For Myst it's an average night, she had gotten home from school to an oddly empty house. The way of living in the house is evident; there are stains on the walls, beer bottles scattered, broken glass on the floor. Myst's appearance embodies the way she lives; long sleeves to hide the cuts and bruises that are always present, most cuts from glass, and others from self harm. She's emaciated, too skinny for a teenage girl of age eighteen but she usually wears baggy and dark clothing to hide any sign of distress. Her hair is shaved short, by her own doing, not wanting her hair to be used against her by the constant assailant; aside from the shortness, her hair is a gorgeous brown resembling the color of milk chocolate. Her eyes consist of a slight bluish purple reflecting the sky as the sun descends behind the horizon.

Checking the time she quickly ran up to her room, locking the door behind her. Tonight's the night, tonight she is finally getting out of this hell hole. Myst packed her small amount of; clothing, money, ipod, laptop and some keepsakes - such as a picture of her big brother, a chain necklace with a lock on it along with, and an old small worn teddy bear with stitching holding his top half and bottom half together. CRASH! A loud slam came from downstairs causing her to jump. Hearing the cracking of wood from the old broken door, the floors creak as the person she dreads most walked around downstairs.

"MYST!" a gruff voice shouts as she flinches, cringing at the wrath in its tone. The shouting come from her father, the worst thing she had ever met, an abusive drunkard who she is finally getting away from. She snaps back to her senses as she hears the loud thumps of his heavy footsteps ascending the stairs, she quickly grabs her bag and throws on a sweater before frantically opening her window.

"YOU LITTLE SHIT! YOU ANSWER WHEN I'M CALLING YOU!", Myst looks towards her door as she hears an ear splitting slam and the splintering of wood. Once she hears the sound of the knob jiggling, she quickly jumps onto the roof of her back porch and slowly climbed down the side. Leaving her backyard and running to her closest friends house a few miles away, she knocks only to see her best friend. London opens the door with a bewildered look on her face.

"Myst? Why the fuck are you here? You know what... I shouldn't be asking that, get your ass in here," Myst snickers a little and London smiles as she heads towards the living room. Myst closes the front door behind her, before plopping down on the couch and gives relaxed sigh dropping her bag on the floor.

"Sorry for turning up out of the blue and not letting you know beforehand, I just need a place to hide out for a little," Myst said nonchalantly as London gave her a look of interest yet slight irritation.

"You promised you would call me for help to get rid the dead body so this wouldn't happen," London replies with sarcasm as Myst smiles and rolls her lavender eyes.

"Pfftp like you'd be able to hide a dead body, you'd give up on that in a heartbeat," Myst replied snarkily.

"Shut up, just tell me what's up," London grins as she turns on the couch to face Myst.

"I'm pretty sure the ceiling is what's up," Myst said bluntly as she pointed at the ceiling with a slender finger, London groaned.

"Dude just tell me what happened," Myst sighed knowing her best friend wouldn't give up and set her bag down.

"I left, I'm not going back there," Myst said seriously yet softly, not sure of herself entirely. London reassuringly hugs Myst, causing her to flinch before hugging back as she smiles.

"Thank GOD! This is something to celebrate over! I'll talk to my grandparents to see if you can stay with us," she beamed as she stands up and grabs her phone; Myst nodding happily, getting up also.
