"Why do you always insist on working late Sky! It's not fair, I know your steamy, drop dead gorgeous boss asked you to finish up, but really you never have fun with me!"

I tried not to laugh at Avery's pouting voice. She was right. I never had much fun lately since my boss had loaded me down with work. Though it was my job and I needed the money, it was hard never getting to see my dorky best friend. I only saw her in the morning when I got up early or when I came home to our apartment and she would have dinner set out late for me. On occasions she would stay up late and talk with me. I sighed into the phone as she told me dinner would be in the fridge since she was going to visit her brother with her mom today. She said goodbye as I sighed heavily again, nearly slamming the phone down. I stopped myself when the janitor came by, I didn't feel like being reported for breaking office equipment.

I smiled at the janitor as I picked up the finished files and walked to my boss's office. The light was still on as I knocked on the door, his usual grunt signaling for me to come in, as I opened the door to the huge office. The office resembled a tomb to me, with its black marble flooring that seemed to engulf you in darkness. Dark brown shelves lined both sides of the walls covering the light charcoal gray wallpaper. The only thing other than the giant windows letting in natural light that gave any color to the room was a little white line of tile leading up to his desk, two black leather seats sat on the opposite side of him while my boss sat like a seat that looked like a throne. He didn't look up from his paper as I set the files on his desk and cleared my throat.

"I take it you're finished then Skyler?" His deep voice seemed to rumble around the room as the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. My boss's name was Dameon Reynolds, the man who could set fire to any woman's heart yet that fire tended to consume them, I'd seen it too many times. I was luckily on guard about the boss's charm only suffering minor effects from him.

Though I needn't worry he never used it on me. I frowned at the thought as I looked down at him. His black hair was trimmed short, enough for a bit on the top but he tended to fade the sides down shorter. Small wisps of silver caught your eye when he was in the light. He was usually seen in a nice well cut black suit, the undershirt black as well. It seemed everyday he was going to a funeral, I sighed to myself knowing it was the death of a new girl's heart. He threw the paper to the side as he looked up at me, his eyes a hard pure gray, I at first thought they were contacts only to ask him later and find out otherwise.

He was quite pale, yet I had no room to talk, whenever he stood he was above everyone else, him being an enormous height of 6'7, he was fit, anyone could tell the way his suit clung to him. He grabbed the papers I had set on his desk as he skimmed over them as he set them down, sighing heavily. 'Oh ya you have it so hard buddy' I thought to myself as I rolled my eyes before he stared back up at me.

"Skyler, since you're somewhat of a female, what do you find romantic for a date?"

Like a female? What the hell is that? I can't see why women fight over you, you're such an ass...

"Well sir since I am a female how nice of you to notice. I would think that a nice picnic in the park..."

"Won't work she would hate getting dirty..."

"Well then how about a nice movie at the drive in getting popcorn..."

"She doesn't like popcorn. It sounds to me that you Skyler don't have very high standards for a date." I pressed my lips together as I subdued the urge to strangle my self absorbed boss. He stood up pushing back his chair as he towered over me as he walked to the huge window that overlooked the city. I waited patiently wanting him to dismiss me quickly, I sighed when I realized he forgot I was even there.
