I really hate mornings. It's one of the many reasons that I made sure that none of my classes started until 10. Getting up any earlier than 8:30 should actually be a sin and not allowed by the government. I know that sounds kinda dramatic but hey when you spend four years getting up as early as 4 a.m to run at least 3 miles a day you'd understand just how horrible mornings are. But for some godforsaken reason today I'm up at 5:30 a.m. After about 20 minutes of trying to fall back asleep and failing I decided to just get up get ready for my first day as a full-time college student. I saw a Starbucks not to far when moving in and decided to walk to get a coffee. As i was walking my bestfriend called me.
"Hey, Alexis how are you doing?"
"I'm doing good. Just trying to get through these classes. How about you?"
"I'm doing ok. Finished moving everything into my apartment now just gotta unpack."
"That's good. Still can't belive you moved that far"
"Yea, same. Honestly I didn't think I would, but I had to get away from him."
"I know, I just miss you. And I'm scared, what if he finds you?"
"He wont I'll be fine. Hey its my turn in line I'll call you later."
"Ok, I love you, be safe. Please"
"Always, and I love you too. Bye"
I ordered my coffee then walked down to Barnes & Nobles which was conveniently down the street. They always have little sections to sit, where you can quietly read your books. I sat down and pulled out a book that I had been reading for awhile. Slowly I became so engrossed into the story that I hadn't realized someone had sat in the seat across from me. At first I pretended that I hadn't noticed him, but that didn't last long because before I knew it he moved and sat directly next to me.
"What are you reading?"
When he opened his mouth I couldn't help but look up. His voice was deep and flowed like velvet. When our eyes met I noticed that the beautiful voice I'd heard was just as sexy as the man grinning at me. I studied every inch of his body: his eyes were this alluring brown like small pools of honey, he had a full sleeve on both arms and a chest piece that was visible through his button up which he wore slightly open with the sleeves rolled up. He was a caramel color and had some really nice muscles. I hadn't realized how long I had gone without answering until he cleared his throat.
"Umm... Just Listen by Sarah Dessen."
"Is it any good?"
"Yeah I really like it actually."
"That's good. My name is Darius. What's yours?"
"Maya"
"That's a beautiful name"
"Thank you"
We sat there for 2 hours just talking and laughing and getting to know each other. He wasn't just a pretty face either he was smart, funny, and sweet.
"I'm sorry to end this wonderful conversation Maya, but I have to go."
"It's ok, I have to get to class anyway."
"Well I'd like to get to know you more, so how about I take you on a date"
At first I was hesitant, I mean I didn't know this guy, but something in me told me to go for it so I gave him my number and we set a date.
"Bye Maya, I'll see you on Friday."
"Bye, I'll see you then."
