writers workshop: write about a ritual that is a routine for you that was broken. for example, you brush your teeth every night but last night you didn't.
my little story: A true story
Every year my dad comes into the city to take my twin brother and I to McDonald's (since its right around the corner) for our birthday, but this year he didn't and my mom did. It was strange because I sm not used to seeing my mom (or my dad). I wasn't really told if my dad was coming or not so I waited on my porch all day and all night... well almost all night. I had realized he wasn't coming around 10 pm. I don't know why I waited for him. I hardly even know what he looks like. My dad usually would message me if he wasn't coming but I didn't get a message. I ended up crying over someone that is hardly in my life. I cried so much that I ended up crying myself to sleep. I already upset that day. I was receiving mean texts from people I didn't know so when my dad didn't show up I guess that's why I cried. That's not all... I hardly let anyone see me cry. There is a mask that I know I put up whether or not I want to. I pretend I am happy all the time, but I'm not. so my dad not showing up had shattered my mask completely.
