After we left the throne room, the Queen smile and ask "How about we go out to the garden? I'm sure you want to see the roses before you leave since the roses are your favorite." I couldn't help but just smile and nodded my head. When I was a child, I would go out to the garden every morning and every night. To me, I see the roses as mysterious but at the same time romantic too. There were always red and black roses all around the garden. One night, when I was 10 years old, I was sitting out in the gardens enjoying the smells of the roses and watching the black roses shine when my mother came out of the shadows and sat down next to me. My mother is so beautiful with her long, black shiny hair that goes all the way down to her back, her eyes black but with a shine though and she has a soft, sweet voice even when she sings me a lullaby when I can't go to sleep. I look at her and saw there was saddness in her eyes. It tores my heart when she is sad. "Mom, what's wrong? Why are you sad," I asked. She shook her head and said "Myst, I have something to tell you and it's about your father. I have recieved a letter that he had been capture by the other lords and he had passed away." I didn't know what to say. I was shocked and torn to pieces knowing that my father was gone forever. "I have to go and regain the peace in order to retrieve your father's body. I know this going to be tough on you, Myst, but I know you are strong just like me," my mother says. I nodded my head and then I saw a dark figure coming out of the shadow and I jumped off the bench and hid behind my mother. Out of the shadows came Queen Arisha. I look at her then at my mother and ask, "Mom, why is Queen Arisha here?" My mom turn around to face me and said, "My child, while I am gone, I have ask her to watch you til I return. I trust Queen Arisha with my life because she is my dearest friend. I have to go now but please, Myst, don't cause any troubles while I'm gone." She kisses me on the forehead and said, "Take care my strong one. Remember I love you and if you ever feel lonely just come out to the gardens at night to watch the black roses to shine." I nodded my head and said, "I love you too, Mother." Queen Arisha walk over to me and hug my mother. "I will guard her with my life, Anna. You have my word," she says. My mother just nodded her head and start to walk away. The Queen walk over to me and took a hold of my hand and just squeeze it lightly. My mother look back one last time and then she was gone. That was the night that I lost them both and my life started to change. I haven't been near the bench since that night. While the Queen and I were walking in the gardens, I notice that we were walking toward the bench. I look at her and ask, "Why did you brought me here?" She stare at the ground and said, "Myst, I know that it was hard for you to lose your mother. It was hard on me too. I have lost my dearest friend, but I did promise her that I would protect you no matter what. Are you sure that you are ready for this mission?" I nodded my head and said, "I'm sure. This is what I have been dreaming for since I lost my parents. I can protect myself now. I have been training with the best vampire teachers. Please, Queen Arisha, trust me on this." "Ok, I trust you. I just hope you will be safe on your journey." I nodded my head then hug her and walk away. To be honest, something wasn't right about the Queen but I couldn't figure what it was though. Maybe I'm just imagining it. I just shook my head and walk back into the castle and head straight for my room.
