The smell. That sweet, wonderful smell of blood and fear that always linger. No matter how much I wish I didn't love the smell I always smile. I walk over by one of the cages and just look at all the blood that was spilled by the humans. The scream could never be forgetful. It would always be be there in my memory. The fear in their eyes brings me the pleasure of knowing that they fear us. Knowing that they will never stand against us. Or so I been told by the others. I walk away from the cage and went over to the other one where there are humans in it. As soon as I got close to the cage, all of the humans move away from the bars and huddle close to the back wall. I don't know why but just seeing them like that makes me feel guilty for what is going to happen to them. I slowly back away from the cage while starring at them and whisper, "I'm sorry." I walk away and hid in the shadows when the other vampires came into the dungeons. I try to ignore it all when I hear them screaming from the pain. I woke up screaming then look around and realize that I am in my room. "It was just the dream. Only a dream," I said to myself. I get up and walk over to the window to see that the moon was still out. I walk away from the window and went toward the door. I open it and walk down the hallway all the way to the door that leads out to the garden. Except when I got there, I notice that the double doors were open though. I know I should be afraid, but for some reason I wasn't. It was like I had a feeling that I might know who could be out in the gardens at this time of the night. I walk out into the gardens and walk over to the end of the garden where the black roses are at. Sitting on the bench was Prince Drystus, staring at the roses. I just stood there, a few feet away from him, wondering why he was out here. "I know you are wondering why I'm out here at this time of the night, Myst" he said. I didn't know what to say so I just walk over to the bench and sat down next to him. He look at me and said, "I don't trust her either by the way. Nobody knows her that well or where she came from either. Your mother didn't trust her either." I look at him then looks at the roses. "If my mother didn't trust her then why did she left her in charge of me then," I asked. He sighed and said "Even though she didn't trust the queen, she decided to leave her in charge of you so perhaps someday you will be able to find out who she is. Your mother and father never did trust her at all when she suddenly appear out of nowhere, but they figure that eventually in the future that they will find out who she is and where she came from too. Sadly, they never did." I shooked my head and said, "So what am I suppose to do then since we know nothing of her?" He got up and start to walk away. I stood up and turn toward his direction. "Where you going now? I just ask you a question and you just get up and leave?!! That's bullshit! I demand my answer now," I yelled. Next thing I knew he was right in front of me in a flash and grab me by the throat and growls, "Don't you ever try to disrespect me again. I am the prince while you are just nothing but a confused vampire who has no idea what the hell is going on or who she really is either. If you want your answer that damn badly then leave now for your journey before it's too late." He let go of me and walk away before I could say anything. I was scared for what just had happen, but I know he was right that I shouldn't have disrespect him like that. I walk out of the gardens and went back inside. I close the double doors quietly then look around in the hallway. I don't know why but I was getting a strange feeling that something or someone was watching me. I shooked my head though and walk back to my room, thinking if I should take his advice or not.
