The soft chimes of a music box became louder as a rather short redhead approached a certain room in the facility she was in. She knew exactly what it was, but she couldn't help but be lured in by curiosity. As she neared the entrance to the room emitting the beautiful pings of sound, she shyly peered in through the open door. She hoped to see the person who normally inhabited said room, dancing gracefully and effortlessly across the checkered tile floors.
However, today, that person was nowhere to be seen in the room. Not even sitting on her stage. To the short woman's dismay, no matter where she turned her gaze, the person just didn't seem to be there.
She slowly walked into the room to investigate more, or at least find some clues that would lead her to finding the person in question. She walked along the sides of the walls in the almost dim room, making sure that she wouldn't trip over herself like she had countless times before.
She hummed along to the familiar tune still playing softly in the background, knowing it all too well. She had practically memorized it, thinking it was one of the best things she'd heard, being that it was composed by the person she was searching for.
She had gotten a decent distance away from the door she had entered, to the point where she almost inline with the brightly lit stage. The only eligible light came from the stage and a few scattered lights around the room, too dim to really see anything with them.
She started to walk towards the stage, wanting to keep her check thorough. Nonetheless, as she was halfway away from the stage, she tripped on a wire used to provide electricity, and fell face first into the cold tile floor.
An audible squeak escaped the redhead's lips as she lost contact with the floor under her feet and began her descent to the floor.
But as she waited for the impact to inflict itself onto her, it never came, but a pair of slender arms wrapped themselves tightly around her waist and pulled her back onto her feet.
"Goodness, Circus Baby, are you alright?" A smooth voice inquired, as the redhead turned around quickly to look up at the owner.
"Y-Yes, I-I am fine B-Ballora. Thank y-you." Baby managed to squeak out, trying her best not to fumble with her words as her cheeks started to burn a bright red.
"Are you sure? I definitely wouldn't want one of my coworkers getting hurt. Especially if it was just a bruise." The taller woman smiled, tilting her head a little and bending down to the other woman's height.
"Yes, I am perfectly okay!" Baby answered, a bit too quickly, causing her cheeks to burn even more.
"Well, if you say so." The taller woman lifted her shoulders a little, releasing her grasp around the redhead since she hadn't let go of her yet.
Baby dusted her self off nervously for no apparent reason as she quickly began to walk out of the room.
"W-Well I'll see you another time." Baby managed to say while walking away.
"Oh, and Baby." The taller woman called after the shorter one.
The redhead turned swiftly on her heel, acknowledging the taller woman's call. She was a blushing mess at that point, and all she wanted to do was go back to her stage room so she could find a away to relax herself.
"If you ever fall again, and I just happen to be around, I'll be sure to catch you." She smiled soft at the shorter woman, a dusted pink blush present on her cheeks.
Baby blushed so much, that her face was reminiscent of the red crop top she wore.
She nodded in response to the taller woman's saying, not trusting her own voice any longer.
She turned on her heel once more, walking quickly out of the other woman's room to her own, her face in her hands. She heard a light chuckle come from the ballerina as she exited.
She let out a breath of relief once she was in the sanctuary of her own room. As she thought of Ballora's words, her heart began to race.
"... I'll... catch you..."
She smiled to herself and put a hand to her chest, feeling the rhythmic beats of her own heart pounding through her chest.
She walked to her stage and sat down neatly on the edge of it, her hands resting loosely in her lap. She gazed up at the ceiling, a dazed happiness written across her features.
She stayed that way until she inevitably fell asleep on her stage, her cheeks still red and her smile staying put, her head being filled with her most wildest dreams and her heart still pounding in her chest.
