I finally got outside. It seemed like the place had gone on forever. The boy seemed to follow me and I didn't know why.
"Why are you following me?"
"Why are you leaving?"
"I'm getting away from the place of horrors that my "friend" had brought me to."
"Well. You can't go THAT way."
"Why not?"
"Unless you have fighting experience, you won't last a day. You'd know that if you belonged here."
"BUT I DON'T."
"Oh. Well then. Where are you from? I can only assume you're from a few towns over."
"I'm not from anywhere here."
The boy suddenly backs away. His staff lighting up. He says something and I instantly fall to the ground.
"There are two places that we are not to speak of."
"If you are from either of them then you really don't belong here."
"So. Question is. Which one are you from?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"There's one place called "Trash Can" where we can all be deleted if our creators so wish."
"We aren't deleted but there's no where to go. Nothingness for miles. No people. You'll go insane there."
"..."
"If you were somehow restored whether it be a glitch or your creator bringing you back.... you'd be a corrupted file."
"What's the other place?"
"The other place is called "Total Adulthood". If you're from there then it's illegal to ever come back here. This overall mess of cities and abandoned places is called "Internet"
"In total adulthood if you go there. Escaping is tough and most creators quit. If you manage to escape though you are granted complete youthfulness."
"What do you mean?"
"We can never fully die here. We're going to be here forever."
I can stand being here forever because it beats my life outside of here. I might go crazy if I can't go anywhere though. I start walking the way I was going but the boy stops me.
"Where are you from?", he asks again.
"I'm not from either of those places. I saw a mirror and I woke up here."
He looked at me like I was crazy.
"No way. IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING."
"What's happening?"
"I've been waiting for years for this to finally happen. Don't you get it. You might be the first but others will come and we'll live forever."
His words confused me. I shouldn't question it though. I start walking again and he runs up to me.
"You don't have any fighting experience."
"I know I don't."
"You have to though or the gate won't open."
I run into an invisible wall. I stare up at it and look at the boy.
"How do I gain fighting experience?"
"There are no monsters here because it's like your starting point. Nobody wants to leave here though because it's a bit of work trying to get it."
"What do I do?"
"First. What's your characters backstory."
"I don't have one."
"Make one up."
So one day Moonshine was walking through the forest hunting for animals to "play" with. In her wolf form she finds a human. She attacks the human to try and scare it. The human turns around in surprise but isn't scared. The male was eating a female. She looked in disgust. The male watches as Moonshine stares intently at him. Moonshine attacks the male but he retaliates. He shoves her off of a cliff. She changes between her wolf and human form. She was in the middle of the transformation when 'CRACK'. She hit a rock and she couldn't move. She looked in horror and saw that she was impaled. Someone finds her and takes her to a lab where she gets experimented on. She eventually gets to leave the lab. She had a new found thirst for blood however. One that would never be quenched.
"I've heard better back stories."
"I only just came up with it."
"You know that's probably going to effect you in the long run right?"
"What is..."
"A thirst for blood?"
"I really don't care. What are the other steps for battle experience?"
