Sasuke
The Coffee Bean cafe
8:30 a.m
Tokyo, JapanThe cafe was always busy this time of day. Everyone was coming in for their daily dose of caffeine to get them through the rest of their morning.
The people varied from the corporate guy in the black suit and blue tie, the young mother coming in pushing the baby stroller, and the group of middle aged house wives just coming in from their morning jog.
It was the middle of October, the cafe was promoting their pumpkin spice latte that time of year. That was the day he met her.
She came in with her blonde friend that day, both choosing to sit at a booth against the window.
He watched as she got up from her seat after a moment of speaking with her friend and walked up to stand in the line.
She was beautiful, but it's not like he'd ever admit that.
Her lips pursed in thought as her green eyes scanned the menu. Pink eyebrows furrowed together and her arms crossed over her small bust.
And her hair was pink, pink! Sasuke had never seen another individual with that shade of red walk into this place before.
It had to be dyed.
He was so transfixed on the spring nymph and her bright appearance, that he forgot about the woman he had been taking an order for.
"Hello, Can you take my order now?! I haven't got all day!"
He scrambled to uncap the marker in his hand while holding the styrofoam cup in the other.
"Name?" The plump, rounded woman gave him her name and order and was told to wait at the pick-up counter.
Sasuke sighed. Everyday he had to work with people like that, every single day.
You would think that being the second son of Uchiha Fugaku of Uchiha Enterprises, Sasuke wouldn't have had to work a day in his life, right?
Wrong.
Sasuke and his father did not get along at all. But, that was a story for another time.
After the older woman claimed her order, time seemed to go by even slower before the pink haired girl finally made it to the counter.
"Hello, how may I help you today ma'am?" He inwardly cringed at the use of 'ma'am' that was something he used with older women.
"Hi! I'll have a medium pumpkin spice latte, an iced caramel coffee, also medium, and a plain bagel please!"
The girl smiled at him when she talked. It was a beautiful smile.
"Unfortunately we've run out of pumpkin spice, sorry about that."
Her bottom slightly jutted out in a small pout. "Oh, you don't?" Her mood was short lived when she almost immediately perked up "Well then, what do you recommend Sa-su-ke ?"
She was reading the small print of his name tag. He couldn't help but stiffen at the way his name fell from her lips.
"Well uh, I'm not much into sweet things but the vanilla-bean latte seems to be pretty popular among the women around here." He reached over to grab two cups.
"Okay, I'll have to try that one out! One vanilla-bean latte please!"
Sasuke smirked. This girl somewhat reminded him of that knucklehead Naruto.
"Name?" He asked.
"Oh, it's Sakura." Sasuke almost laughed. Like the hair wasn't any indication as to what it was.
So instead, he smirked at her. "You're order will be right up Sa-ku-ra."
He hadn't caught the blush forming on her cheeks as he turned away from her to prepare her order.
It took no more than ten minutes before it was ready.
"I've got an order for Sakura!" He yelled across the cafe.
Her slim figure moved through the crowd before meeting him across the counter once again.
"Thank you so much Sas-!" The man behind her accidentally bumped her arm causing the hot vanilla-bean latte to spill all over the counter as well as Sasuke's arm and hand.
"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! Here let me help yo-!" Sasuke held up his uninjured hand to stop her.
"It's fine, I've dealt with worse. Can't say it doesn't sting though.." This was true, he had dealt with worse.
"A-are you sure? It looks like it's going to be a pretty bad burn." She said with unsure eyes.
"I'm fine Sakura, it wasn't your fault." He assured her. "I should probably go soak this under water, your order is on the house by the way."
And with that, he made a quick exit to the break room.
Sakura
She solemnly made her way back to the booth after sluggishly wiping down the mess she made on the counter. Ino had been smirking at her the whole time.
"I saw that billboard brow~." She sang "I must say I'm surprised you didn't do that much damage considering how clumsy you are!" She laughed.
"It's not funny Ino! He could've been seriously hurt..ugh! I'm such a clutz!" She slammed her head on her crossed arm that sat on the table.
"Uh.. yeah, that's what I've been saying." She began to spread the cream cheese onto her bagel before biting into it. "Wow he really knows how to toast a bagel! I can't tell you how many times I've ended up with a burnt one."
Sakura only groaned in response. Ino sighed before setting her food down. "Sakura it's going to be alright, you probably won't ever see him again anyway."
Sakura's head immediately shot up "It's not that!" She argued.
Ino raised a lone blonde brow.
"I just feel really bad, okay?" Her chin rested on her palm as she looked out the window.
Ino stared at her friend before smiling. "Oh my Sakura, do you maybe have a little crush on this guy already?"
Her face heated up before frantically waving her arms around chanting 'no' like a mantra.
"WeonlyjustmethowcouldIpossiblyhavefeelingsfor someoneIdontevenknowthatsjustridiculousIno-!" Her friend held a finger to her lips to stop her.
"Silly forehead girl, I was only kidding." She laughed. "Did you happen to get his name by any chance?" She asked as she sipped.
"As a matter of fact I did! His name is Sasuke." Ino lit up
"Wah Sasuke-kun what a lovely name! Oh wow you guys would be so cute together! Think about it. Sasuke and Sakura! Sakura and Sasuke!"
"Ino stop! Everyone's starting to stare!" She did her best to try and cover her mouth.
"Oh I hope you guys will meet again! Then we can finally go on a double date like I've always wanted!" She clasped her under her chin as she gazed up to the heavens.
"You're totally wrong Ino-Pig. It's not going to happen."
