Sakura
One week later
Bus stop
7:32 a.m.
Tokyo, Japan"Why can't things just go my way for once?!"
She was drenched from head to toe in rain water and the weather was only getting worse by the minute. She sat down on the bench and rung out her soaked jumper.
"I just bought this too... Argh why That pig have to take my umbrellaa~!?" she whined. There was just no way she was going to make it to her internship on time.
She plucked a piece of wet hair from her forehead and tucked it behind her ear. The bus would most likely be late today by the looks of everything.
She huffed in her seat and swung her legs impatiently.
Today would be her last day as an intern and she didn't want it to end with her, soaking wet and late for work.
"I must have the worst luck in the world.." she thought to herself.
The sound of wet footsteps on the ground drew in her attention. Her eyes immediately widened upon looking at the figure on her right.
"No way..."
There, standing under the hood of the bus stop, was that cute barista she had met a week earlier!
"It's official. I definitely have the worst luck!"
He clicked away at the cellphone in his hand, obviously not paying any attention as he sat down beside her. Poor Sakura had to scoot all the way over until she was pressed up against the glass just to avoid him.
"How could I not have noticed him before? I take this bus to work everyday!"
Oh if only Ino could see her now, she'd probably laugh herself to death at the situation.
Sasuke still hadn't looked up from his phone, his music was pretty loud so he most likely didn't hear her surprised gasp.
The gray hoodie he was wearing had ridden up on his injured arm and revealed the crisp white bandages that wrapped around the expanse of it as well as his hand.
Sakura was overwhelmed by a wave of guilt. Of course it wasn't particularly her fault, but she couldn't help but feel that way. She had to make it up to him somehow.
Finally, the bus pulled up to them. Sasuke got up first and walked towards the open doors.
He finally took out his earbuds as he got on.
"You got a bus pass kid?" The old bus driver asked him. "Um, yeah hold on a second." As he dug through his wallet.
Sakura watched as he looked for his pass for the third time, digging in his pockets before she stepped up.
"I can pay for him."
Sasuke, just realizing she was there, looked at her with wide eyes as she handed the old man her ticket.
She caught him staring and gave him a small, sweet smile. The old man swiped the ticket before handing it back to her "You know, usually it's the gentleman that pays for the young lady." He remarked with a yellowish grin.
Sakura giggled before moving through the bus to find a seat.
She found an empty one in the back and moved to sit down. She jumped when someone else sat next to her unexpectedly.
"You didn't have to do that you know." His voice was husky, as if he had just woken up. It had Sakura blushing like no tomorrow.
"W-well I've already practically melted your arm, I couldn't let you get sick too." She didn't have the courage to look at him like this, opting to twiddle with her fingers.
"I would've been fine, but thank you." She responded with a quiet 'your welcome'.
A few minutes into the ride and Sakura found herself looking at his bandaged arm. Sasuke had caught her looking and frowned.
"I'm really okay. The doctor said that it's healing nicely and the scarring wouldn't be all that bad." She looked at him with furrowed eyebrows "Are you sure? It really looked like it hurt."
He only smirked at her, a smirk that once again brought a flush to the young woman's face.
The rest of the ride went along smoothly, and the two pretty much sat in a comfortable silence the rest of the way.
"Oh, it's my stop." Sakura stood up with her bag in hand. Sasuke stood up to only to move out of her way.
She took a step away from him before stopping to turn towards him again.
"Hey, I get a break for lunch at twelve. Maybe I could swing by the cafe. Would you be working then?" Both hands clutched the strap of her purse as she awaited his answer.
He raised his eyebrows before smirking again "Yeah, I'll be working by then. Just promise not to spill anything on me this time."
She pursed her lips and playfully punched him on the shoulder. "Shut up! It wasn't my fault!"
He chuckled as he clutched his shoulder. "You better get off now before you miss your stop."
She gasped and moved quickly towards the exit. She looked back at him. "Don't think this is over Sasuke!" She pointed at him.
He shook his head. "Yeah whatever."
