A Fairy Without Wings

Chapter 3: Truth

-Underwater in the library-

"Dad, you mean to say that the council lied? For the 14 years I have been an outcast, I'm....I'm not.. alone?" I am pretty shaky at how the Pixie, and the Mermaid council have lied to me.
"Did you know?" I say, wondering who to trust.

"No sweetheart, of course not. Do you think that I would allow you to suffer all these years, just to please some council? You're my daughter, no matter what kind of creature you are! You don't know, but you're an heir to the throne! Your mother is the head of the pixies! And the youngest ever to be a member! Once she retires, and gives up her wings to become a mermaid, and me and her live happily ever after safely, you're taking over."
My dad says, like he's rehearsed this with mom.
I have to sit down, and bury my head in my arms. My whole future is completely figured out for me. I read into the future just far enough to see me as the new ruler of the pixies. My eyes go wide, and I jump up startled.
I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE POWERS! I'M JUST A HUMAN, RIGHT?!!!!
"Sweetheart, what's...." My dad starts, but I cut him off.
"I can read into the FUTURE NOW!! Dad, I have powers!" I say surprised.
"That's impossible! Unless, you're just a slow developer! Nicole sweetheart, you're not just a human!" My dad says.
"Come! Let us tell your mom" he says, swimming away.
I grab the book we found, and swim after him. Suddenly, I am pulled with something and my mouth is covered.
"Shh! Tell no one about thissss, no one shall knowwww, take this note, now go!" Someone whispers a riddle and shoves a note into my side pocket, and pushes me ahead back to my dad. I look back, and see a shadow move, I quickly catch up to my dad and I don't tell him. "Not until, at least I read it", I tell myself. We arrive to shore and my dad calls for my mom using a specialist decoder siren song that merfolk use to call for their lover. My mom taught me it as an elective for Mermaid training in case if my tail ever sprung up suddenly.
It goes, "Call me my dear special one, answer me before the sun has gone, I've been waiting to see you again, Please come back to me, So we can sing once again in the sea"
My mom then appears singing the song as well and then my parents are together again.
"Dearest, we've discovered Someone just like Nicole! A fairy without wings, or a tail. Nicole, please show your mom couple pages that we looked at" My dad says, turning to me now.
I show her the picture/ drawing of the lady.
"Magnificent! How extraordinary is  this?!" My mom says her eyes wide.
I got inside my beach house running, telling my parents that I needed to pee badly, and I lock myself in the bathroom and read the note.
"The council is lying to you. Trust no one, including your parents" - Signed, The Fairy Without Wings.
My eyes go wide, she was looking out for me! I have to get back to the library without anyone seeing. Looks like I'm going to the tail shop.

Hey guys! Sorry about the late postings. I've taken time to focus on Highschool and my grades have skyrocketed to 90's and over grade point average in all of my classes!
