Chapter sixteen

Back when I was 7 I dreamt of my happy ending, having a nice boy beside me with a dog in a small and cozy house with kids running around.

I have never felt so close to live my dream with this Man and these beautiful kids but I had doubts, I had questions and a lot of things to hear in order for me to feel safe and to know what is this  that I am doing and feeling with the man who is my boss

And how could our life's fit together, we have absolutely nothing in common, looking at him a businessman and a total male model very close to Adonis himself.

And looking at me I am a dreamer looking for my dream to become a writer and living a good life with my own earnings not depending on someone to give me an easy life.

I'm not one of those I think we are here to work for something we love ❤️

He is sleeping still looking like a model right out of a magazine, the frown that was present on the first few days of my employment is now completely gone and a small smile graces his pillowy lips.

The triplets are laying down lazily by the blanket right next to us while whispering all their adventures they did today.

Slowly trying not to bother Cal I reach for the basket full of food and start to dig in it.

The kids look up to the movement and the calm is broken down by the sounds of excitement coming out of their mouths.

Callum stirs and I stay as stiff as I can while holding my finger over my mouth to silence the triplets.
Though it doesn't work and Call end up waking up with alarm,
"What, What is going on, are you ok?" His alarmed voice breaks through the air of the park.
His eyes reflect what he is feeling, which is panic.

I reach to him and grab his face to say "Everything is okay, don't worry, we are here, we are safe" I whisper, as if talking to a kid.

He breathes out all the anguish that he had inside and pulls my body to his and kisses my forehead while putting his right arm around me securely, which the other one he pulls the triplets in the hug so we are all having a group hug.

After that sweet moment we got all the picnic 🧺 food out and ate it all together.

When we got back to the Mansion the boys were exhausted after all that playing and eating they only wanted to sleep, Callum and I bathed them and put them to bed, I was very surprised he wanted to help me with the bathing and changing them to their Pjs.

Turning the lights off and leaving the door halfway closed, I made my way to the staircase so I could put all the dishes and extra food away.
Cal went right after me for some unknown reason I felt happy to have him follow me.

I went right into the kitchen and he stayed on the other side where the breakfast table was placed, the only thing dividing us was the kitchen island.
He leaned on the wall where he could watch me tiding everything up.

"Darcy, What am I going to do with you?" His velvet voice whispered to me across the room.

"What do you mean, Callum?" My voice was overflowing with nerves and anxiety.

He takes one of the bar stools of the kitchen island and sits on it, he waits there saying nothing until I'm finished putting things away.

"Darcy, come here" comes his soft voice into my ears, I almost faint at the warmth in his simple words.
Then my brain starts to work and overthinking begins, Why does he want me to come close, what is he planning to do, is it going to be awkward..... endless questions cross my mind per second and he is still waiting for my answer, I am stick in the same position and I didn't notice that before, I finally say to myself just give him the benefit of the doubt.

I approach him carefully and he makes eye contact the mere second I raise my head to look at his expression, he is still calm and collected, when I'm about to be close enough to him at a normal distance he grabs my waist out of nowhere and pushes me to him, his delicious scent invaded my nostrils and that distracts me enough for him to pull me in for a kiss.

His lips soft and smooth meet mine with a soft and tender touch, but nonetheless with passion hidden in the kiss, I don't return the kiss for a few seconds but then I grab his soft hair and pull him to me like my life depended on his lips touching mine.
