Dipper pov
The day was a normal one. Mabel was messing around with Soos, Grunkle Stan doing tours while Wendy was at the cashier, and Grunkle Ford was in his lab. I was looking for something to do in the journal. I was about to give up when Mabel came over and said "Hey Bro Bro, wanna go explore the woods for a little bit?" I almost imediatley said yes and went upstairs to prepare.
Time skip about a half hour later
We had been walking for about 20 minutes and had found nothing. Then Mabel called my name. She had found a beautiful river that almost glowed purple. It was truly enchanting in every aspect. I couldn't believe what we found. I tasted the water. It tasted so sweet and clean. Mabel did the same. "wow this is amazing" she said " how can it be so good!" I replied "I have no clue Mabel but isn't this kinda suspicious? There has to be some catch to it. There always is." "Maybe but I don't really think so. it's peaceful and besides not everything has to be magical." Mabel said back. I didn't know what to believe. Mabel or my instincts. So I just said " Let's just go back. It is getting late.". "got it." she replied and so we went back. halfway back I got the most horrible headache. Mabel looked like she was in the same boat. as soon as we got back we saw the TV blaring and what we saw was shocking. "The river!" Mabel exclaimed. we watched the News person say "Tomorrow This beautiful river will become a water source for the entire town." We were both unsure whether or not that was good. we then just went upstairs and went to bed not caring about it.
It was the worst mistake of our lives.
