Ladybug swooped down into her room as quick as she could and detransformed just in time to hear the gentle tap on her window only seconds later.

She opened it to reveal Chat Noir as he hoped inside.

'Everything okay, Princess?' he asked.

Marinette smiled.
'I'm fine thank you Chat. Thanks for stopping by, but I'm okay, honestly.'

Chat smiled at her.
'Well in that case, I'll be off. By the way, Marinette -'

'Chat, you're about to transform back.' Marinette interupted.

Chat Noir looked down at his ring.
'I'm sure you wouldn't be able to resist me without my mask on.' he said, winking at her.

Marinette rolled her eyes. 'Go, Chat!'

He grinned before exiting once more through the window, calling: 'See you around, Princess!'

As soon as he had gone, Marinette went to close the window.

'Phew, that was close, Tikki.' she sighed.

The next day, Adrien awoke to the sound of Plagg pretending to be an alarm clock by shouting in his ear.

'WAKE UP. WAKE UP. WAKE UP. WAKE UP-'

'Plagg, SHUT up.' Adrien groaned.

'Oh look, he's awake!' Plagg said sarcastically. 'Come on, I'm starrrrvvvviiing!'

'All you can think about is your stomach, you fat floating lump.'

'Hey! Ouch that hurt!' Plagg put on a pretend upset face.

'Haha, very funny, wow I'm so sorry, Plagg.' Adrien replied, barely listening as he walked into his bathroom.

Adrien arrived at school that morning to a heavy downpour of rain. Typical. He got out of his car with the knitted scarf that his dad had got for him wound around his neck.

As he made his way up the front steps to the school building, he heard someone call his name.

'Adrien!'

He turned round.

Not now. He thought desperately.
Lyla was standing at the bottom of the school steps, one hand on her hip, the other holding an elegant red umbrella with a sly smile on her face.

Adrien took a deep breath and put a false smile on.
'Hey Lyla!'

Marinette watched from inside the school building at the top of the steps.

She watched as Adrien made his way over to Lyla.

Not her again. Why was she always turning up when she was least wanted?

Marinette usually loved rain. Since that day Adrien had given her that umbrella, Marinette always felt like rain was a sign of good luck.

Not today.

Adrien and Lyla made their way up the steps, as they reached the top where Marinette was standing.
Noticing her, Adrien shrugged Lyla off and smiled at Marinette.

'Hi Marinette!' he said cheerfully.

She smiled back at him, but she could still see Lyla standing next to him and trying to tug him away from her.

'Come on Adrien, we can go to the library before the bell goes!' said Lyla, sweetly.

Adrien grimaced and gently detached himself from Lyla again.
