After school, you meet up with Summer once more to walk home together. You live just down the road from her, which was a huge score, so you always walk home together after school, even though you take a bus in the morning. When you were about a block away from home, Summer thought it would be a good idea to speak up.
"Hey, wanna hang out today? You could meet my grandpa!" She spoke excitedly.
You contemplate for a little bit with a long sigh before smiling at her and nodding. "Sure, why not?"
You both walk into Summer's home, and you're immediately greeted by Beth. "Hey there, Y/N! Been a while since I last saw you!" You smile softly and respond with a simple "Yeah, been a while since I've seen you too!" Eventually, Jerry came into the living room and ruffled your hair. "Hello, Jerry..." you muttered irritatingly. Without a doubt, you knew for a fact that everyone, and you meant everyone, hated Jerry. He was kind of a narcissist, and an idiot. You were honestly surprised that Beth had stayed with him. You were waiting for Morty to show up as well, but he seemed nowhere to be seen.
"Hey, where's Morty?" You asked and Beth immediately replied. "Oh, he's probably out on some weird space adventure with my dad, who just recently moved in." You tilted your head in confusion, not really understanding what she meant by "some weird space adventure".
But, speak of the devil, Morty walked into the house through the garage door, along with a tall thin elder with spiked blue hair, a lab coat, blue long sleeve shirt and brown pants. "Hey, wh-UuRp-what's going on in here? Some kinda family reunion or some dumb shit?" The older male spoke up in a hoarse voice.
Beth tried not to lash out for being rude, patting your shoulders. "Dad, this is one of Summer's good friends, Y/N." You smiled nervously and waved when Beth introduced you. "Y/N, this is my father, Rick." Beth walked over to "Rick" and made him hold out his hand.
"Rick. Rick Sanchez. Nice to meet you Y/N, I guess." His voice seemed like it was dripping with sarcasm and boredom. Yet, he held out his hand anyways, to what you would assume he only did that because it would make his daughter happy. You simply smiled wider and took his hand in yours, giving it a good and firm shake before pulling back. His hand was surprisingly warm and you almost didn't want to let it go.
Once you pulled your hand back, he simply dragged Morty out into the living room and sat on the couch, grabbing the television remote and taking a swig of a flask before he put it back in his pocket and channel surfed. You decide to sit down next to them with Rick on the far end, you on the other end, and Morty in between the two of you.
"It's n-nice to see you again, Y-Y/N." Morty stuttered out as he looked up at you. You smiled down at him and ruffled his hair gently. "Nice to see you too, Mort Mort." Rick simply scoffed at how mushy you guys were being and continued to look through channels. "God, why don't you just eat her out already, Morty?" At Rick's words, you swiftly pushed Morty away and started blushing at how blunt he was. "R-R-Rick!" Morty complained, glaring at him. "She-she-she's just a friend!"
Rick simply chuckled at your guys' reaction. That laugh... Something about it made your blush darken. You so badly wanted to hear it again. Jeez, Y/N, really? You just met this bastard and you're already blushing over him? He's so old, too! Your inner voice yelled at you, making you feel even worse about the situation. You snuck a glance over at Rick and he was looking at the TV once more.
Oh boy, this was gonna be a long day...
