Rick stopped channel surfing before giving Morty the remote and getting up, walking towards you. "Hey, w-wanna see some super-cool stuff you probably wouldn't understand?" He asked you. You couldn't help but notice an accidental reference and you used that to your advantage.
"Like sleeping?" You asked with a small snicker.
Rick seemed to catch on, smirking softly before grabbing your hand and pulling you up off the couch. "They're not pajamas." he soon replied as he dragged you to the garage. You were rather confused by Rick's antics and actions, yet you followed anyways.
Once the two of you got to the garage, you looked around at all the gadgets. "Oh wow... Impressive art!" You comment, not really believing that they all had a function and actually served a purpose — very cool ones at that.
"Ha ha, very funny." He spat, picking up one of the gadgets and observing it. "What, is it... not your own?" You tilt your head in confusion. He simply groaned in irritation, pushing the gadget into your chest. "It's not art, dumbass. They're all scientific shit I made. What you have right there-" he pointed to the object you were holding. "-projects any image in your head onto a screen. Everything here serves a purpose, it's not just there to look pretty. Told you you wouldn't understand." You simply looked down at your feet in guilt at your assumption. Nothing else was said for a few moments as you kept looking at the ground with the headband cap gadget thing in your hands before Rick sighed heavily, placing a hand on your shoulder and giving it a couple pats. "Look, I'm sorry, okay?" His tone of voice was monotonous and not very convincing, but you looked up at him with a small smile anyways.
Once he saw you look up, he removed his hand, grabbing yours once again before dragging you into the house and sitting you on the couch. "Keep yourself occupied, fuck with Jerry all you want, find something on TV, just do anything other than disturb me while I'm in the garage, pipsqueak." He then took the mind reading gadget from your hands and tossed the TV remote at your now completely dumbfounded self before just heading back towards the garage door. Once he was out of sight, you scoffed lightly, leaning back against the couch and aiming the remote at the TV and turning it on. "Don't tell me what to do, old man..." You muttered under your breath as you flipped through the different channels. Most of the stuff you saw you had never even heard of or seen before in your life. One was simply an error screen of colors as a speedy 8-bit song played it the background, text overlapping the colored bars saying "STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT PROGRAM! -MTT" Another channel seemed to be some anime like Sword Art Online, but everyone was a weird looking alien thing. You kept going and found a channel that was just live streaming popular vines.
"Finally, something I'm interested in..." You spoke to yourself with a smile before propping your feet up on the coffee table and placing the remote down. A few minutes of just watching vines, Jerry walked in just in time for him to hear "AHH! Stahp, I coulda dropped mah croissant!" He looked at the screen and tilted his head. "Y/N, what are you wat-" You cut him off with a loud and clearly irritated groan, turning to look at the idiot.
"Wow, and to think you couldn't live any more under the rock of obliviousness, I find out that you don't know what Vine is. You disappoint me, Jerry." You spoke monotonously, making his head fall as he walked away. You smirked in victory and looked back at the screen to see "I'm in my mum's car, broom broom."
Another few moments pass when Summer comes downstairs and sits down next to you. "I saw Dad walking to his room like he just got hella roasted." You giggle as you remember what happened. "Well, I just said I was disappointed in him for not knowing what Vine was..." the redhead next to you burst out in laughter before calming down and looking at the screen. "Oh, sucks that I missed that, I really wanted to see his face after you told him that!"
