2:55 pm
My leg bounced uncontrollably as my eyes locked on the slowly moving clock, the second hand seeming to move every ten seconds rather than one. I tried to resist a heavy sigh, and managed to tear away from the hypnotic tic tock that made things worse. I wasn't excited for school to end, in fact I was really nervous. I glanced down at my phone from my sweatshirt pocket, re reading messages I got earlier today.
From: Unknown
-Yo, sorry I got a number from one of your friends. I wasn't able to find you. I hope that doesnt offend you.
- Anyway, after school meet me in the parking lot, I always get out a bit early so I can hook you up with a ride. Been meaning to talk to you anyway ;)They followed their messages with several, "please don't take that the wrong way" and rambling, which was cute. I knew exactly who he was, I've been crushing on him since the eighth grade for crying out loud, and to finally talk to him my junior year.
I groaned in frustration, out loud. My teacher glared at me and made the loud shushing noise, which instantly heated my face. Apologising, my green eyes found their way to the clock once again.
2:56 pm
I resisted another groan, flopping my head on my desk. I moved my black hair around on the smooth wood, a strange habit I had when I was bored, just moving my hair around made me... Less bored. After what felt like hours, the last person taking the test finally turned it in.
"Alright class, we have two minutes left. But since everyone finished the mid semester test, as promised you may leave early. Please be quiet though and don't disrupt other classes. Have a good weekend!" Once she finished talking, the room broke the silence with chatter and gossip. I sighed in relief, tossing my backpack over my shoulder, the many keychains on the zipper rattling. I felt two hands grab my arm and I couldn't help but smile at two familiar grey eyes.
"Are you gonna go meet him?!" My best friend, Ann, asked excitedly. She was practically bouncing in place, and if I didn't know any better I'd say she's more nervous than I was
"Well yeah, you have to let me go for me to meet him though Red." My short nickname for her changed everytime her hair did, she was always dying or bleaching her hair, or wearing something if her roots showed. She originally has beautiful chocolate colored hair, but she was such a cosplaying nerd. She watches a lot of anime, I do too, while we both enjoyed it, she took it more as inspiration for her next costume design.
"I'm thinking I might go pink next," She said in response to her nickname. "I have such a great way to pull of a Natzu cosplay but I am dying to get this Grell costume done." She sighed sadly.
I couldn't help but giggle as we exited the room. "You know if you didn't stress yourself over the Phara cosplay you'd have both done in no time." I commented.
Her cheeks puffed out in mock anger as she began a mini rant. "Listen here Kassy, I am a true cosplayer! If I'm not suffering immensely for my work then I'm not doing it right." She claimed defienitely as I sniggered. "And besides, as any true cosplayer, no. As any true nerd, would do, I am finishing a work I have been doing for months, whether I collapse of sleep deprivation, lack of real nutrition despite donuts deliciousness, or fall behind in classes due to my determination."
At this point I was resisting cackling at her nerd speech, which she began giggling to as well. She was actually an amazing cosplayer, she pulled off many of her costumes well and it's scary to see her so deep in character.
