Violet Fintry had just been leaving her mom's house when she heard her phone echoing it's vibrations off the cluttered living room coffee table. She dove onto the brown leather couch and leaned forward, setting her chin in one hand and using the other to pick up her phone decorated in a purple case. Her eyes graced an unfamiliar area code until she looked farther down her screen.

Incoming call:

Lee Fintry

She pressed the green button and let out the sigh of relief she'd been holding in since the last time Elliot called her- a month and a half ago. There goes my Starbucks date for one, though, she thought.

"Hello?" she greeted. She was hoping for the best, that her brother was calling for a good reason and not that he'd been in a car accident. Again.

"Hey, Vi, it's Elliot." Violet could hear his smile through her end of the receiver, causing her to split her face in a grin as well.

"I know who it is, idiot. Where have you been? How is everything? Did you knock up Jens-"

"Violet!" Elliot exclaimed, cutting off his batty sister before she could take her "concerned questions" any further.

"What? I've always wanted a nephew, you know."

"Well..." he drawled with a questionable tone, figuring he might as well fuel her fire knowing she wasn't going to tone it down any time soon.

"Oh my God, Lee!" she yelled, sinking herself more into the couch, her mouth agape.

        "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I haven't. We haven't."

"Good," she said, pulling up from the couch and planning on making a b-line to the kitchen.

"...Yet," he said, and she could practically feel her brother's smirk.

"Alright, enough. I've heard enough. That's disgusting," she said and rolled her eyes while Elliot chuckled on the other end.

She reached the kitchen and sat on the cool countertop, her phone in between the skinny crook of her neck and her pale cheek, her laptop at hand and looking up "how to make a Starbucks double chocolate chip frappe". Through her phone, she heard Jensen telling Elliot that she'd be back soon and that she was going to dinner with the twins. Violet then heard Elliot wish her goodbye. She also heard him tell her he loves her. She raised her eyebrows and plastered a smirk on her face in an "oh really?" type of way. She put her laptop on the green marbled counter and crossed her dirty sneakers- the canvases of her Converse once a crisp white- as she patiently waited for Elliot to direct his attention back to his phone.

"Hey, sorry. Jensen was heading out and I was saying goodbye," Elliot said.

"'Goodbye', huh? Because I heard something else. Did I just hear you, Elliot Fintry, tell Elliot Jensen, that you love her? I'm actually on the verge of squealing, that is so cute," Violet said, raising her voice towards the end of her sentence as if she was talking to a newborn baby. He's going to hate me. . . Oh well, Violet thought to herself after remembering that Elliot despises when people speak to him like a child.

"Alright first off don't ever raise your voice like that again. It's fucking annoying." I knew it. "Second, of course I did. She is my girlfriend. And I did, you know, kind of go back to the UK for her," Elliot said as more of a question, "and, um. . . We moved in together."
