Once upon a time....

There was a girl named Samantha. She was nicknamed Sam the Dreamer because she was always daydreaming about everything. She was only seven but had a expansive vocabulary, was able to do calculus, could speak six different languages including American Sign Language, and had a better understanding of the world than most adults. Everyone would ask her parents how is she so smart? They said that they weren't sure. When Sam was asked, she simply said, "I dreamed it." No one could understand how she could dream of so many things that most seven year old girls have never even come across. She hadn't any understanding of how she was dreaming of these things either.

One night, she dreamed of being one of the youngest twelfth graders at the local high school. She awoke the next morning and began begging her parents to let her go to high school. Sam's mom asked her if she was sure she was ready to go to high school. In reality her mom knew she was perfectly capable of keeping up with all of the lessons, she just wasn't sure if those high school students would appreciate being outsmarted by a seven year old. Her dad didn't want Sam around all those high school boys. But they both agreed to let her take a placement test.

The test was then scheduled for the end of the current school year. The whole town caught wind of it and soon everyone was wondering why a seven year old was trying to go to high school or why her parents would allow her to even try. They would be stopped on the street and asked questions by random people in their community. Some asked Sam if she was nervous. Others asked her parents why they were letting her do it. But most importantly, people asked Sam if she was studying. But she wasnt. She just kept dreaming.

On the day of her placement test, Sam wore a hot pink tank top with a black sequin heart in the middle, black cutoff denim jean shorts, and her black gladiator sandals. She also had her long black hair braided and in a ponytail. She dressed that way so no one could try to accuse her of cheating. Not many really believed she was that smart. Only her family believed in her.

On the ride to the local high school, her mom asked her one last time of she really wanted to do this. She said nothing but just nodded her head once. Sam was determined to do this. It was what she dreamed of. It was how she believed she should live her life. So they got out the car and continued onto the classroom where she would take her test. Her parents were not allowed in the classroom before or during the test so they waited outside the classroom along with the other people who had gathered to wait and see if their seven year old daughter could do the impossible and pass the twelfth grade placement test.

The test involved a lot of subjects that the young girl had never talked about with anyone let alone her own parents or teachers. She answered all multiple choice questions first, the written responces second, and BCR's and ECR's last. Those took the longest. It was everything that she had seen in her dreams so she knew how to respond to each of them. After Sam finished the rigorous testing, she waited in the hallway seated with her parents while five teachers graded her tests. Two hours had passed while the teachers looked over and re-looked over the seven year olds answers. They were blown away by the results. In the end, there was no denying it any further. The teachers came out the classroom to tell everyone the results. They walked up to Sam and her parents and congratulated Sam on having achieved a perfect score on the placement test.

The end...
