As the mirror fell to the floor, Ebony and Max held each other tightly as they were sent flying.

"What's going on?!" Ebony screamed as loud as she could to be heard over the loud whooshing. Even then, Max didn't hear her. Only when they both fell with a thud onto hot sand did she try asking another question.

"What happened Max? I just looked into the mirror and the next thing I know we were floating through whatever that was!" She had fear in her voice. Just a sliver, but her friend knew it when he heard it.

"How should I know? You were holding the mirror", he said. "But how 'bout we don't get into that argument and figure out where we are instead?"

"Fine", he heard her mumble. Their landscape looked very dry, and very sandy. Although, there looked like there was a mountain in the distance.

"Let's head that way, it looks like a mountain or something."

"Sure. There might be people, too."

~~~
On the walk to the mysterious mountain things, Max had been thinking an awful lot about what had happened earlier between the two. Were they going to continue to stay friends, or be something more? Neither had been in a relationship, nor had any crushes. Max couldn't believe he hadn't noticed that fact. They had just always been together. Always.
"Hey, Ebony, about what happened earlier, I'm sorry that I felt that was a good present. I ju-"
"Let's talk about it later, okay? I want to figure out what's going on first."
"Oh... Alright..."
~~~

The truth was Ebony knew she liked it. What she didn't like was how Max kept apologizing about it. She kissed him back, didn't she? She never had any relationships or crushes because she had always liked him; however, she always hid it. Always.

But where did they stand now, best friends forever or "in a relationship"? She wanted the latter, but age had to know why Max had wanted to make a move in the first place. Was it because of the news, or did he always feel it too?

"Ebony, those a definitely not mountains, especially if they're still being built."

This snapped her out of her thoughts and worries about Max.

It looked like they had more pressing matters to worry about.
