Zax up top, you'll meet him soon.

§~Vanessa Colleen~§

Vanessa observed the clock. She tilted her head just to the side and watched as the hands moved.

'A minute behind.' Vanessa's mind blared.

She glanced around the room, making observations and stacking them neatly in files in her mind.

The dried up paint was peeling and the classroom smelled of concrete. Vanessa noted sourly.

She glanced at the teacher. His desk was scattered with papers and projects his daughters made him.

'A five and seven year old.' Vanessa guessed by his age.

He adjusted his glasses and glanced up, sending Vanessa a strained smile. She didn't return and simply went back to observing the clock.

'Class ended point 5 seconds ago.' Her mind sighed.

She glimpsed at her peers.

'Sarah is done.' She noted.

The only other person who was finished was Sarah. This troubled Vanessa in a harsh manor.

Sarah has always been her rival. Ever since she stole her 9th grade boyfriend. That was the beginning of a war.

Sarah gave Vanessa a triumphant smirk and gently tapped Rivas shoulder.

Rivas glanced at Vanessa as Sarah whispered something into his ear. He gave Sarah a weak smile before looking back at his test.

"Time's up." The teacher said, "Hand in your papers."

Most students groaned and trudged to the front of the classroom.

The few who finished in the last seconds, wore a satisfied yet tired look.

Everyone walked to the front and placed their papers in a red bin. Most hesitated, Vanessa was not one of them.

The bell blared and Vanessa covered her ears. The sound giving her a killer head ache. She absolutely hated the bell. Sarah gave her a look that read 'pathetic.'

Vanessa sighed and gazed at the teacher.

"Have a good day." The teacher said as he sighed and straightened his shirt.

'Stressed out with work and with home lately.' Vanessa observed.

Students filed out of the room, pushing and shoving. The need of food pushed them all to fiercely scramble out of the room like quarreling lionesses.

"Did you see the way Vanessa covered her ears?" Sarah whispered to her best friend, Gina.

Gina laughed and snorted at the same time. "Yeah, so pathetic. How does she even live with herself? She has no friends and no social life. She just exists. She has no purpose."

Sarah nodded in agreement. She shot Vanessa a sickly-sweet smile as she passed. "I'm sorry did you need something?"

Vanessa ignored her and shoved past her, through the crowd, making her way to the lunch room.

"Did you just call me a bitch?" Racheal screamed and slapped Trish.

"I think I did you whore." Trish cried back.

"You're the one trying to steal my man!" Racheal screamed and slapped Trish again.

"Am not! He loves me."

Vanessa whinced, calculating the possibility that was true.

She shuffled past the fight. Lucky enough to not be the girl who was bullied everyday. She had once been, but her lack of response made them give up. Now she was a bystander, unwilling to help the needy.
