What's the one sane thing to do when you're slidding down a rock away from the only people who can help save a little girl from dying due to frostbite and help you, well actaully me, get out of a forest full of lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) ?

Scream of course

So that's exactly what I did. I screamed and screamed and screamed. For the whole ten seconds I was slidding down the giant rocks smooth surfaces before I managed to recconect with gravity and balance, I screamed. Once gravity decided he or she liked me again, I pulled myself into a standing position and now found I was evern furthur away from Niall and Louis. I was however, now above them and in plain sight if they would look up.

So,

What's the one sane thing you do when you're standing on a rock and the only people who can save you and that little girl with frostbite are standing on a different rock just below and diagonal too you?

Scream of course

"Niall!! Louis!! I'm up here!" I started jumping around on the rock like a mad- cow infected monkey and moving sideways, being careful not to slip and fall, loosing the awesome position my last feet of clumsiness had won me. I raised my voice as high as I could getting desperate for the boys to hear me. I turned and looked behind me making sure I could still see the brush where Lottie was hidden.

"Briony!" I gasped and turned back to the rocks. "Briony is that you!" I could see Niall and Louis jumping up and down.

"Niall it's me!" Niall motioned for me too stay where I was, before hugging Louis and disappearing up the rocky face.

It was a few minutes later when I realised that Niall might not be able to find me up here. I knew that I was standing high up on the rapids, and I had absolutely no hope of climbing down to meet them. I could run the risk of climbing back down the face towards Lottie's cave and then calling them again. But maybe the boys knew how to climb up here.

Damn it Bear Grylls, you never taught us this.

I was so busy pondering over this dilemma, I didn't notice the boys appear behind me, and the sudden feeling of Niall's arms wrapped around my stomach took me straight back to the cold and smelly alleyway. Screaming, I tried to buckle him off, but was instead rewarded with the warmth of his chest.

"Briony, it's just me, it's ok, I'm here I'll protect you." I slowly wrapped my arms around his chest, the feeling of his hand stroking the back of my head steadily slowing down my spastic heart.

"Lottie, she's not doing well. I think she has frostbite." Untangling myself from Niall's warm embrace, I looked up into Louis' face, watching it fall at the meeting of my words. I could tell that he was hoping Lottie was as safe as me.
Seeing his face do forlorn made me wish it was me lying in the make shift cave with frozen toes and fingers, if only to wipe the sadness from his face.

"Come on, we have to hurry she's just down here, in this shrub."
I lead the boys carefully down the rock face where we all began to sprint to the tangled shrub. Being the fantastic athlete that I am, all sarcasm intended, I arrived at the bush last, Louis already weaving his way through its thorny clutches. "Wait here, I'll go and get her." All I can do is pray that little Lottie's condition has not worsened in the few minutes I was gone. "How does she look?" I raise my eyes from the ugly ground to see Louis emerging from the shrubbery, Lottie's small figure wrapped in his heavy parka. "Not good, she's out like a light. Thank you for looking after her Briony, I'll take her from here." His cold and dismissive tone shocks me. What? Louis pushes past my frozen body, and begins charging down the escapade. "Louis doesn't mean that he's just scared for his sister. You can understand right?" The cold hardness of Niall's eyes tells me not to speak. What did I do wrong?
