Kirbsta <3 Peace out

I froze, staring in utter horror as Lottie flew through the water towards the waterfall. "Oh my god LOTTIE!" Louis leaped to his feet and ran. "Louis help meghr." Lottie's heard sank under the water. She didn't resurface. I jumped up and nearly fell again with the sudden swamp of pain in my gut. "Not now, please not now!" Ignoring the pain as best I could, I sprinted to the waterfall. When I arrived, everyone was yelling at Lottie to grab their hands. The loudest of all was Louis and the teacher, Mrs. Watts. Despite their attempts Lottie was just too far into the rapids for them to reach. I looked around desperately trying to find something, anything that would reach Lottie. Further downstream there were several trees with branches over- hanging the rapids. I sprinted to the trees and started to haul myself up and I tested the branches strength. It groaned slightly under my weight but I thought it would hold. I looked sideways and saw Lottie floating closer and closer. I slipped my legs around the tree branch and taking a deep breath, I let go. Swinging around, my hands slapped the water, my head just centremeters away from the surface. Perfect timing. Lottie re-surfaced again and swung around to face me. Reaching, I grabbed her arms just above the elbows and braced for impact. The water tugged on Lottie and I held fast, my arms spraining to the maximum. I began hauling Lottie up and that's where it all went wrong. When I had tested the branch on holding my weight I forgot it would have to hold Lottie's weight as well. With a CRUNCH, the branch snapped cleanly in half and I fell head first into the rapids just meters away from the waterfall. -iony!" As I resurfaced Lottie was screaming my name. I reached out and wrapped my arms around her body, pulling her closer so we wouldn't be pushed apart by the tide. "Hang on Lottie we're about to go OVERRR!" As we fell over the edge surrounded by the rushing water i was swamped with pain from every direction. The last thing I remember was screaming before it all went black.

3rd Person POV (A/N 3rd person POV is from a general perspective and not an indivisuals POV end A/N)

As the rushing water settled and the raging torrents calmed, she crawled painfully to the older girl, who had blood dripping from her side. She put her hand upon the woman’s shoulder and whispered a name. When no response was served, she spoke the name again, with the conviction and fear that had lacked before. Again and again she repeated that name, louder and louder, sadder and sadder. With lack of movement and pale blue lips, the girl was convinced the worst had befallen her friend.  With a desperate wail, the girl collapsed on top of the woman, her head on her chest, her hand on her heart. The girl screamed and screamed but nothing would work. She screamed to her friend “please, please don’t die.”  Quieter and quieter she grew, weaker and weaker until at last she whispered “it’s just not fair.” For hours the pair lay silent, soaking in the water that had so carefully saved their lives. Nothing could be heard but the occasional sob and the gentle crash of the waves on the shore as Lottie lay upon Briony, waiting for her to wake from her bottomless dreams.

From Lottie’s POV

I felt it. Again. A beat. Slow and faint, but a beat. Just above my ear. I sat up slowly and wiped my face, smudged tears made cold by the sudden contact with the cold air. “Briony?” I knew the beat I had heard was her heart and I was filled with sudden hope. As I had lain with Briony, on that cold and painful stone I had asked god, why? Briony had saved my life two many times before, and now god was taking her away from me because of my silly mistakes and mischievous ways. “It’s just not fair” I had told him. “It’s just not fair.” He had heard me. With a groan and cracking of joints, Briony awoke and opened her eyes. With a cough and a yelp, she turned on her side and vomited, sea water and blood. (A/N too much detail, I know I know end A/N) She fell back onto her back, coughing and spluttering. No sound was uttered as I fell forward and began to sob, my arms wrapped tightly around her fragile frame. "Hey. I'm ok, you're ok, it's ok." Briony whispered gently rubbing my back. "I'm sorry!" I sobbed uncontrollably, both happy she was ok, but angry that we were stuck in the middle of a river in the middle of god no's where. "It's not you're fa-"

"Yes it is, everything is my fault and I'm sorry."

"It's ok, I'm not mad"

I looked up and Briony wiped the fresh tears off my face. "You're not mad?"

"No! Everybody makes mistakes and you were just trying to have fun." Briony smiled weakly at me and suddenly inhaled sharply and a small squeak escaped her pale lips. My face fell instantly and I rolled off her body. I gasped at the small pool of bright red liquid pooled around Briony, her arms laying lifeless by her sides. I began to stutter and panic realizing the blood leaking from Briony's shot wound in her stomach. Sitting up, Briony looked at her stomach. "Oh crap," was all she said before her eyes rolled back and her head hit the rock with a sickening crack.

Briony's POV

Dying isin't painful. And their isin't a bright flash of light and your life flashing before your eyes like they say It's not the big exciting deal that the books make it out to be. It's just a last exhale of breath and the pain, the suffering and all those bad omens float out of your body and leave behind nothing but peace and serenity. And well your empty body for your loved ones to mourn and bury in an empty hole in the ground. But dying isin't painful. It's simple and easy. As I lay there on the rock, body bleeding and heart pounding, I thought what have i acheived in my life. I'd only had a short life, 15 years, i mean, I hadn't even graduated yet. I'd saved a random stranger, twice, meet the biggest boy band in the world, broken the law, been on the run, but I hadn't acheived much. Huh. You know how people always say, help strangers, give to the needy, don't hesitate, particiapte. Yeah, right. I helped a stranger in need and I ended up dying on a rock, my self- respect and pride bleeding out my open stomach. But i felt happy and a somewhat calm steal over me, if you call death that. Yeah, I had a short life but I had a good life. Looking up at Lottie's precious face, I smiled and wiped her golden locks over her ear. It's ok, I wispered to her. It's ok. I know, I know. I'm dead, she can't hear me. Right?

I know, I know

I suck

Short chapter but i just had to get that little bit on the rock out there, plus it sets up some stuff i can use in future chapters, cause I'm still not 100% where this book is going. And my last 2 chapters have been leaning towards typical fanfictions, but that's not what i want for this book. I don't want one direction in a book. I want a book that has One Direction playing a part in it. This book isn't about the boys it just has them in it :)

It's been so long since i updated, but Christmas holidyas are soooooo boring, so i will write to fix this!!

So what do we think? Is Briony dead? And what's this about breaking the law?? Naughty girl!!
