Point of Transcendence

A young man stood in the rain, staring up into a dark sky.

He was just starting college around 'that' time, and that's when everything changed for him.

He often looked up into the sky, mesmerized by such a sight. To him, the sky was the most beautiful sight to behold in a 'wretched' world.

The sound of the bustling streets drew him back down to earth with a rude reawakening, his eyes snapping a blink before recollecting his thoughts.

He walked down the street, hundreds of faces passing him - but none remembered within his brain, nor resonated in his heart. What was a single face passing by on the sidewalk of a city? What was a child running through the crowd, only to accidentally bump into you? Yes, it meant nothing. Nothing at all.

However, once every thousands of faces, one traps itself in our hearts. A sense of false destiny ringing within us.

Red tail lights reflecting off the water on the side of the road, the sound of rain hitting against the concrete earth below his feet...He wandered without thought or conviction.

He stopped, facing a collapsed building. His heart ached as though he saw his own home collapsed and ruined.

Words were ringing in his head - nearly screaming. 'You can save her.'

With those agonizing words resonating in his mind - he sprinted towards 'that place'. A place where hope could be retained even by those who lost everything. A place where even those without purpose can find it: a single chance within millions.

A single star in the night sky.

He reached the point of no return: The aeonian horizon.

You now stand atop the point of eternity, yet unable to achieve your wish so desperately desired.

The young boy shouted at the world in retaliation, standing above a place unreachable by life itself. Did he even exist at this point? Or was he just an illusion part of the universe's 'game'? He felt the universe expanding around him, pulling him along with it.
