We met our parents in the lobby of the hotel so they could send us off with sad, conflicted faces. My mom hovered around me fluffing my hair and saying things like, "You have enough cash on you? Oh! And your I.D.! Be careful!" and "Only get a ride from a taxi, and no one else!" and, my personal favorite, "Oh, are sure you don't want me to come along?"

"Mom, for the love of all that is holy, we'll be fine! You don't need to come with." I said finally, nearly shouting, shattering the quiet flow of the lobby.

"Oh alright! Have fun, girls." My mom finally acquiesced. She put a hand on my shoulder one last time, smiled, and hugged me tightly, ruffling my cut-off ATL tank top.

Alaina, Lauren, Catie, and I regrouped and then headed outside to pile into the cab. The taxi ride to the theatre felt more perilous than any stranger danger my mother warned me about. When the vehicle pulled up to the curb we all scrambled out and threw some money at the driver. My eyes took in the long line standing in front of the gilded, antique facade of the Enmore and my impatience flared hotly.

"Ughhh, we are going to be in line forever!!" I whined to no one in particular. Alaina shrugged and headed to get in line. Lauren knocked her shoulder to mine and said "It'll be worth the wait, at least." We followed Alaina over to the end of the line. I huffed, sighed, and pouted against the wall.

As we waited, we made conversation with the other fans around us. Our accents made us stand out amongst the ocean of mostly Australian teens also waiting in line. We became somewhat popular as we talked, laughed, and played on our phones with our fellow standees to pass the time. The hours seemed to fly by, and in no time at all we were standing in front of the security guard at the entrance to the building (Daniel, his name tag said.)

Daniel asked to see our tickets and then motioned for us to follow another young, uniformed guy who escorted us to our seats. We called a 'thank you' at him and took our seats.

Our seats really were awesome, that radio show knew how to fucking do it. We could've touched the stage, if we reached around the damn military-grade steel barricades cutting off a 3-foot ring around the stage. The Enmore filled up around us and the crowd was deafening. Since 5sos's target audience happened to be teenage girls, everyone in the crowd was talking at once and it was loud as hell. Lauren shouted to Alaina over all the noise, "I'm literally so excited I think I'm going to shit my pants!" I raised my eyebrows and yelled back to her, "Charming, Lauren."

Alaina laughed and told her to calm down. I tried to take her advice, too, as I started to hyperventilate slightly when the crew set up the finishing touches up on the stage. My friends and I started dancing together to a good song I had never heard before. Upon asking Alaina I discovered it was Sum41's song "In Too Deep." The song came to a close as the house lights dimmed and 4 spot lights found 4 figures walking onto the stage simultaneously. Finally, after pining after them for 2 years, there they were in all their glory. Ash, Luke, Mikey, and Cal walked to their places and nodded at each other, obviously getting prepped for their first number.

"Damn, they are tall." I thought to myself as I joined in with my friends, and the crowd, screaming my head off. I knew how tall they were, of course, but since they were all so similar in height they looked just normal height. NOPE NOT EVEN CLOSE. I have a thing for tall boys, probably because I am a fucking hobbit at 5 feet 4 inches and my primal nesting instinct says settle down with a tall, strong son-of-a-bitch to reach tall shelves and open jars and shit. They struck the first chords of Greenlight and I could feel myself getting lost in the music. I grinded, danced, and jumped like an idiot not controlling my movements in the least, letting the music take over.

Greenlight ended too soon and then Ashton pulled his mic to his lips, hit a snare for emphasis and yelled "WHAT'S UP SYDNEY?" The crowd roared in response. The boys gazed out over the audience looking alive and electric. Ash leaned over his drum set to scan the front row. I swore up and down that his beautiful stormy-sea-green eyes lingered on me for more than just a few seconds. The breath left my lungs and I was frozen. The loud first notes of Voodoo Doll jolted me, breaking my paralysis and I started to dance again. I shouted the lyrics to my favorite 5sos song as they played it, but I couldn't help wondering if Ashton had actually looked at me. I told myself not to be unrealistic, but those eyes could make any girl start thinking crazy. I shook my head and thought, "Ashton wasn't looking at you! He was just looking over the crowd, he couldn't  possibly have been staring at you." God, I needed to get over myself.
