I walked down the hall, holding my books close knowing that if I didn’t someone would bump into me making them fall from my grasp and I was right, Steve Wright, a big muscular football player bumped right into me causing my books to fall out of my arms, he kept on walking like nothing had happened, everyone else maneuvered their way around the books and papers like they weren’t even there.
“Hey douche bag, don’t you see that you just bumped into her, her stuff is all over the ground” one of my only friends Ami told Steve, he turned around and smiled at her.
“I’m sorry, let me get those for you” he bent down and picked up my belongings and handed them to Ami.
“Those aren’t mine, their Jordyn’s” she said nodding her head over to me, she crossed her hands over her chest.
“Right, here you go Ami” he said shoving the books in my direction, eyes glued on Ami.
“I’m Jordyn” I corrected as he flashed cheesy grins at my best friend, he snapped out of his daze and looked at me.
“What?” He asked, I rolled my eyes.
“Let’s go Jord” she grabbed my arm and pulled me away, mumbling to herself.
“see I told you no one notices me, they can’t even remember my name!” Ami scoffed.
“Jordy, You know Steve is a popular jock who doesn’t remember anyone” she was trying to make me feel better but it wasn’t making me feel any better.
“Oh yea, then how come he called me Ami,? He obviously remembers your name”
“I don’t know” just then we heard someone calling from behind.
“Ami!” It was Steve, he was jogging behind us, he stopped and made googly eyes for a second.
“What do you want?” she snapped.
“You forgot this, it must of falled when you dropped your stuff” he handed her a picture, my picture I couldn’t believe it, we just stood there and had a whole conversation.
“Falled? I can’t believe our in the 11th grade, falled, really?!” she snapped back ripping the picture out of his hands.
“This isn’t mine, it’s Jordyn’s you jerk” she pulled me away before Steve could say something.
“Told you” I corrected, holding the picture of me and my mother close to my chest.
“Sorry” she frowned, I smiled a weak smile and we continued our day.
Things only took a turn for the worst
-In the lunch room-
“I’m telling you I’m invisible” I said to the two only people I sit with everyday, Ami and Karen.
“Jordy, your not invisible!”
“Hey Ami” Steve cooed sitting right in front of me.
“Ughh what do you want!?” she demanded Steve laughed.
“Hey chill out, I just wanted to say hi”
“Hi, you do know you just sat in front of Jordyn right?”, he looked around.
“Oh sorry Jordyn” he said to Karen, she rolled her eyes.
“I’m not Jordyn, she is” she said pointing to me, I was sitting behind him.
“Oh sorry didn’t see you there” he said getting up from his seat.
“Course you didn’t” I mumbled to myself.
“What did you say?” he asked Karen, completely ignoring me.
“Nothing” Karen said.
“Oh ok, bye Ami, see you later” he winked.
“Yea, don’t think about it!” she shouted as he walked away.
“I guess you are invisible” Karen said, Ami sighed, knowing there was nothing she could do.
“I know” I said loud enough to make the both of them jump.
“I’ll change my ego, see if people notice me more if I become different” Ami and Karen looked at each other.
“I don’t know, you know how that goes-” I cut her off.
“I’m doing it, end of discussion” I said and that really was the end of that discussion.
