"The minds of the youth are so one-tracked nowadays," you say with an amused huff, raising an eyebrow at the panting Todoroki in front of you, hands on his knees, bent over so far you couldn't catch a glimpse of his pretty heterochromatic eyes. "So focused on becoming heroes that you seek out the villains. Kind of ironic, no?"

"Shut. . .up," he mutters, glaring at you. The shadows of the alley give him the illusion of glowing eyes. It seems you always end up in alleys with him. "Do you. . .have to constantly. . .speak in riddles?"

You reach into your bag and pull out a water bottle, offering it to the boy. When he hesitates, you push the bottle closer, encouraging him with a pout. "It only seems as if I speak in riddles. You're simply too unintelligent to understand what I say, so you brush it off as something with a greater meaning than it really holds."

He shoots you a wary look but takes the bottle anyways. "Then tell me what you mean."

"Is it possible for such an obviously inferior mind to comprehend such advanced concepts?"

He is clearly irked. "I would if you explained them." He takes a long drink.

"Mm. Then, the cafe down this street at 4 tomorrow?" you offer casually. Todoroki blinks up at you in surprise.

"You want to meet up?"

You give a lazy shrug. "Sure. Why not?"

"Then. . .4 should be fine."

"Perfect," you chirp, before stretching your arms and legs out languidly. Walking past the boy, you move into the crowded sidewalk, waving a hand back at him lazily. "It's a date!"

Silent, he watches you disappear into the streets of the city. He stands by himself for a bit, watching the hundreds of people simply pass him by, and despite his quiet demeanor a storm rages inside him, roaring, a drum beating steadily in his ears.

What was it about you?

He steps into the crowd, hoping the sounds would drown the ones in his head, but he can barely make out the voices of businessmen on phones and the taps of feet on pavement. The hurricane still rages inside him, his heart trying to rip itself out of his chest, and Todoroki finally understands why when he hears a calm voice from the phone pressed to his ear.

"Hello, this is the Musutafu police station. What can we help you with?"

He takes in a shaky breath.
