It is just your luck that, on the one day your friend has not called you for their usual favors regarding Todoroki, you run into the said male.

"Well, if it isn't UA's resident prodigy," you hum to yourself, under your breath. You watch him from afar as he is swamped by people--mainly girls, squealing and pushing--all with their phones out, to take pictures. "Already famous, it seems. And he hasn't even done anything yet."

With a light, carefree shrug, you walk past, ignoring the chaos on the other side of the street. As you walk, earbuds in and a soft tune playing, you feel eyes boring into the side of your head and turn to look.

Your eyes meet Todoroki's for a brief moment. You send him a wink and a grin.

---------

"It's you."

The pack of strawberries falls into your basket with a soft 'thud'. "There are a lot of 'you's in the world, Todoroki, so I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific."

"The one who knew Stain. With the fire Quirk."

"Oh. Yeah. Sounds like me." You turn away from him.

He grabs your arm as you try to leave. "I'm not done talking to you, villain."

Your face twists into an unamused smile. "Dear me, 'villain'? How could a pretty thing like this be someone so revolting?"

"How else would you know Stain?" Todoroki shoots back, voice low.

"Doesn't everyone?" you say before finally wrenching your arm out of his grip. He lets you, but still follows you to the cash register. Placing your items down, one by one, you reach over and grab one of the strange stick things to put between your and Todoroki's purchases.

"They may know him, but very few are familiar with him," he presses on. You turn to him, eyebrows raised, mouth curled into a fake pout.

"Well, why didn't you ask that in the beginning? Man, we really went in circles because of you."

The cashier finishes scanning your items, and begins placing them in bags, the white plastic crinkling loudly.

"You know what I meant."

"You shouldn't assume one's level of intelligence, my dude. Choose your words carefully next time. They hold more power than you'd think." You pull out a couple of bills after being told your total and hand it to the worker.

After taking your bagged groceries from the cashier, you smile up at the heterochromatic-eyed male. "Want me to wait for you?"

Confused, he furrows his brows before slowly nodding, mute. Your grin turns mischievous.

"Oh, nice. Well, gotta blast!"

Cackling, you sprint out of the store, your laughs growing harder as you hear Todoroki cursing to himself as he fumbles with his wallet, trying to pay as fast as he can to chase after you. He is too slow--by the time he runs outside, you are gone.

You sigh to yourself, the same smile still etched on your face.

"If only we could get what we want," you murmur, back at your apartment, lying flat on the floor. A bowl of strawberries, rinsed and cut, sits patiently beside you. "What I wish for the most. . .is near impossible to achieve."

You lazily reach over and snag a strawberry slice from the bowl. Raising it to your lips, you peer at the red fruit before popping it in your mouth, savoring the tangy sweetness that follows.

"So I'll just have to change that, I suppose."

And if anyone else's wishes are sacrificed in the process? a small part of your mind tries.

You lick the juice off your lips.

"A shame, then."
