Today is the day I am supposed to get my sisters at the airport and I am already counting the days until they leave. Kristen and Christina are two uptight human beings and they always made fun of me because I am the last born in the family, also because I have always been mother's favorite.

I drive up to them and I already know they are upset because I am 20 minutes late. The airport staff help them put their luggage in the car and Kristen is shouting on the phone, I wonder who the unlucky person on the other side of the phone is!

"Hey babies, I am so sorry for being so late I got held up in court. How was your flight?" They ignored me and got on their phone.

"And the silence? Guys I said I was sorry, I couldn't even text you because I was working."

"We could have taken a cab, do you know how humiliating it is standing in front of the airport for 20 minutes when you are so beautiful like we are" Kristen is the first one to speak to me and this is exactly why I hate spending time with them.

"Geez Kris conceded much? You know you would not have taken a cab" I say.

"So Tina how is the lab going? Any newfound discoveries?" Christina is the most stuck up of the two, so I was not shocked she was still quite. She seems to be a bit invested in what was on the phone because she was grinning.

"It's fine, I love my job and everything else is none of your business. Now drive before you crash." after a long pause she finally responded. So I never again tried to make small talk.

"So mom said I should drop you off at her house"

"And why can't we go to yours?" they all responded uniformly.

"I do not want you in my house, geez Tina would you stop eating in my car? I just bought it." I decided I was going to play the stuck up girl with them too.

"Oh yeah I forgot to tell you that your car is amazing Christall, I was considering buying it too." Kristen Complimented me, this is a miracle. I recently just bought the 2018 Mercedes Benz AMG G63 SUV and it feels like I am riding a piece of paradise.

Phone rings...

"Christall you need to go to Mrs Scott's house right now, she found her husbanddead on the couch. She is supposed to take a statement and you know we can't afford for that to happen in your absence. I am on my way too." Tim says with urgency.

"Alright thank you Tim, I will see you there and if you get there before me try stalling until I get there." I hang up the phone.

"Guys please forgive me I don't have time to take you to mom's so I will have to go with you, but please promise me to remain in the car because it is a crime scene and I am not supposed to bring civilians to a crime scene." They all nod and I quickly head to the house.

I get there and it is full of people crying outside the front porch and I humbly ask them to leave because we don't want to attract attention.

"Simone can you please come into the study?" Simone Scott and his husband have been my clients for as long as I can remember, in fact they were my first official clients after I got approved by the bar. I helped them with a prenuptial agreement when they got married 5 years ago.

"Simone I know you are distraught and believe me so am I, you know you both are my friends so I want you to tell me what happened detail by detail." I ask her with the most painful pang in my chest because I love them both.

So after a lot of explaining and taking of the statement by the police it was finally quite in the house. The body was taken away and I asked my sisters to come in. They can clearly see that I was affected by this death so Kristen went to the kitchen to get water for both Simone and I.

"Not to be rude but Christall I am tired and I want to head home." Christina as always is inconsiderate but I understand they flew here.

"Tina wait a minute, go to the car and we'll come in a short while." Kristen saves me because I don't know what I would have said to her at that point.

"Okay I'll go. And ma'am I'm sorry for what happened" Tina says and leaves for the car.

"Simone I called both your family and Trevor's, they said they were on the way so I am going to go when at lease one person comes" just by saying that, she starts crying again and Kristen jumps to hug her.

I heard Simone's 's mom call from downstairs and I told her to come up to the guest room. We left her with her mom.

Kristen offered to drive us to my house and on the way Tina called mother to let her know that they will be sleeping at my house for the night.

In my bedroom, we are watching Game of Thrones eating popcorn. This takes me back to our childhood when we did not have responsibilities and all we loved to do was chill and binge watch our favorite shows.

My cell phone rings.

"Christall Simons of Simons & Associates, who am I speaking with?"

"Hello Mrs Simons this is Sierra June and I would like you to be my lawyer in a lawsuit against my landlord in my building."

"How did you get a hold of this number? This is a private cell phone line."

"From a friend of mine who is a client of the firm" she responds.

"Alright Miss June come to my office tomorrow and we'll discuss it further, look for my assistant Timothy Tucker and he'll help you."

"Alright Christall, is it my perception or you work a lot?" Kristen says and honestly I see what she means because I don't remember a day I have ever taken just for myself.

But I love practicing law and I do not see myself doing anything else.
