Long Lost Chapman

Chapter Four

After my shift at the laundromat, I go to the hospital to see Julie, as I had a phone call saying she not doing too good at all by the doctor but they doing their best to help her.

As I open the door to the corridor where Julie is, I see a nurse and go up to her. "Hiya, I'm looking for Julie Jackson. Can you tell me which room she's in?"

"Oh, erm, could you wait in the waiting room? Someone will take you to her shortly." The nurse smiles kindly at me, gesturing to the waiting room.

Thanking her, I nod and go in, seeing a family. They look like they've been here a while. I sit down, taking my phone out to message Kay.

Me: hey I'm at the hospital but I got to stay in the waiting room might be a while did Lily have a nice time with Mama Rose?

Then I message Mama Rose to let her know what was going on with Julie, ending it with "I love you."

Fifteen minutes later, the family in the waiting room finds out about their family member. Turns out she collapsed, but she's coming round now so they can see her.

Smile lightly, knowing there is some good today.

I get a message back from Mama Rose as the doctor leads the family out.

Mama Rose: hiya lovie I hope Julie is okay please keep me updated doesn't matter what the time is love you too

Another fifteen minutes passes, and a nurse or doctor still hasn't come to tell me how Julie is. Oh, how I hate waiting, so I decide to get some revisions done, since I brought my college bag with me. I just hope Julie is okay. I know I'm the only one who'll visit her because she doesn't have any family.

Forty-five minutes later, and the door finally opens again. The doctor comes in and takes the seat next to me.

"You're here for Julie Jackson?" he asks.

I nod. "Is she okay? Can I see her now?"

The doctor holds a hand out, as I'm ready to get up. "I have some news..."
