When I was about to turn 15 I fell in love for the first time.
It's been six months since I moved and met him, he is my neighbor, his name is Myungjun, people call him MJ and he is 16, we go to the same high school but he is a junior and I'm only a freshman, when I first saw him I was on the car, he was running along the sidewalk. He was wearing a white t-shirt and grey sweatpants, his hair was moving with the wind and his plump lips were a little open.
I didn't fell in love with him when I saw him but when I saw his sketches, my mom and his became friends almost instantly, they were always in each others house and one day, I met the real MJ, I went looking for my mom and the walls were covered in framed drawings all signed by him, they show a completely different side of him, he never smiles and he is always with a notebook and a pencil without talking to anybody but the color and lines in his drawings show happiness, the brightness, and beauty in them would have you think he is always happy and bubbly but he puts up a lot of walls to keep people distant.
-The day after-
Day 1: March 5th.
-I knocked on the door-
- Hey sweetie -MJ's mom looks at me- what are you doing here so early? Does your mom need something?.
- Good Morning Mrs. Kim, may I talk to Myungjun? my mom told me it was his birthday so I bought him a little gift.
- He's still asleep, but I'll wake him up for you, come in -I sit on the couch holding a mint green box after a while MJ comes out of his room and looks at me-
- Who are you? -He scratched his head-
- I'm your neighbor and we go to the same school, we also have the same math class, don't you remember me?
- I don't, what do you want? It's a Saturday
- It's ok if you don't know who I am, I just wanted to tell you that I like you and happy birth... -He grabbed the box out of my hands and place it on the table-
- Thanks, you can go now
- MJ wait -I stood up and pull on his sleeve- I like you...
- I don't care, I'm 17 today and you look 12, you can do the math since you are in advance class, right? -He went into his room-Day 9: March 14th.
-I knocked on the door-
- -MJ swings the door open- It's been 2 weeks, stop already, stop with the little letters, I don't read them and I'm never going to read them, at least next time bring something I can eat.
- I'm sorry, I will -I smiled at him-
- Gosh, stop already -He closed the door on my face-Day 26: March 31st.
-MJ is already waiting for me outside-
- Hey -I smiled- today the breakfast is...
- Seriously stop this, It's getting annoying -He didn't grab the small container and left, I slide the letter through the door and left the container outside-
- He'll read all the letters soon -I smiled and tried to catch up with him in the way to school-
- Seriously, why are you so annoying? -He looked at me- don't walk near me, the street is big enough.Day 41: April 15th.
MJ got really mad at me for always knocking on the door, his mom gave me his phone number yesterday, should I call him? -I dial the number on the paper-
- Hello? -MJ answered he sounded sleepy and confused, did I just wake him up?-
- Hey, it's me...
- Stop, how you got my number? are you an alarm clock or something? -He hanged up-
- It's okay, I still like him -I smiled- I know underneath that rude guy act, there's a sweet, happy one, the one who drew the beautiful sketches in his living room.Day 56: April 30th.
I got the habit of sending him a good morning text and leaving the letter in the mail slot, I'm sure he is tired of me trying to get his attention, but today is a special day, today is my birthday so the text was a little different:
