Chapter 5

Everyone kept Ashley down.

"Jack." Daniel shakily says. Glaring at him as my breath hitches. Jack goes in front of Ashley as she slows down her struggles to a near shake.

"Daniel take her to Eben." Jack says controlling Ashley down. Daniel rushes to me gripping me on the shoulders. Breathing deeply inquiring me to follow his lead. I try to do so eventually calming down.

"Zach come with us to Eben's." He says not breaking eye contact. We rap around each other in a tight hug and it is the least I could do for them at this moments. I don't think even words can slip from my mouth to do it. All it does is quiver in fear as my glance at Ashley ever few seconds. He rubs my back leading us out with Zach tail gating behind us.

"Dude where is Eben's? It's very dangerous to be outside at night." Zach informs us before we open the door.

"Zach he is a few houses down and we are also in the city." Daniel says defecting his negative words that are meant to frighten us.

"There is still bad people." He mumbles lowly but we could still hear it. Daniel swings the door open and starts his way to Eben's home.

"Daniel?" I ask thinking of the question I have been wanting to ask for a while in my head.

"Yes." He reply's shortly.

"Aren't the sirens bad because in the Greek..." Daniel cuts my speech short.

"Mermaids are born mermaids. They sing making sailors fall in the water then eating them to keep themselves beautiful and young." He summarized.

"What are sirens then?" I ask.

"We are cursed humans. Sirens soul purpose of being here is to spread it and save themselves. After the death of Poseidon we built some common sense and stopped unless they are cruel." He explains.

"How do you transfer the curse?"

"Kissing." He shamefully. I look behind me at Zach who has his head hanging low. Daniel turns down a small road leading to a small house. He slowly nicks on the door in a rhythm foreign to me. The door jingles meaning somebody is unlocking 6 locks quickly. A small crack peeps in the door as a shaggy head looks and sees Daniel opening the door wider.

"Hey Daniel, Zach," he waves eyeing me, "I was just about to come over." He whispers creepily. I squint at him not wanting to go near the creepy looking man.

"Ya man, something happened with the arrangements and we had to leave." Daniel says discreetly not wanting to tell him about Corbyn's sister.

"Ok guys come in." He says waving us into his dark home that was different from the normal houses down here.

"Emily you going to be fine." Daniel whispers gripping my hand taking us into the shaded house.

"Is this her?" Eben questions.

"Yes." Zach reply's quickly wanting to get this over with. I weakly smile at him. He observed me and walking to a different room. We all look at each other quizzically asking what is happening.

"Dude you brought us to a nut house." Zach says but as I stare at him his mouth doesn't move. What?

"Emily he is a telepathic he can make us like walkie-talkies." Daniel says again but with out his mouth. Ugh I'm confused.

"Got it guys don't worry." Eben says walking back into the room with a book that has a olden golden trident in the middle of the cover.

"Where did you get that?!" Zach says in awe. Eben chuckles flipping through the pages while examining my shoulder.

"My dad got it from his friend's mom's father. It was a long process." Eben explains. He stops on a page holding his finger to it reading it line for line. He loudly gasps dropping the book and kneeling. Daniel grabs the floating book at we both read it at the same time with Zach peering over my shoulder.

This is a symbol that only belongs to Poseidon's daughter Lily. Unfortunately she has been gone for years and once this symbol is found it's way back into our kingdom she will end the war to end all wars. Her symbol has the power to use any power she comes into contact with.
Daniel and Zach do the same as Eben as I stand there blankly awestruck.

"Please stop this book is wrong. Just take me back home." I plead wanting to get out of this nightmare. None of them reply the just keep their heads bowed. I grab the book and find the topic about Poseidon's daughter.

The daughter of Poseidon was lost and the parents died in the hands of the great god fall out. The daughter survived and will return and have to prove herself to the people by finding the trident and the heart of Poseidon. Once acquired she can win the battle and create a better courts in the ocean. Once she is married she will become a full god as well as her new husband and their mighty court.

"Daniel please get up." I urge but he doesn't move. "Fine if I am the princess I order you to stop." I say firmly. They slowly get up and I sigh in relief.

"Sorry princess..." Daniel starts but I don't let him finish.

"Danny." He sulkily looks at me.

"Sorry. I don't even know what to say." He apologizes while fiddling his fingers. I sigh then hug him to show him it is okay.

"Guys she isn't safe here. You either need to get her to land or the castle." Eben says ruining the moment. We disconnect but I grip Daniel's shoulder to keep myself from using my legs down here.

"Ya he is right. We need to leave." Daniel whispers petting my hair down.

"We can't leave its night out. Even if we wanted to you know what happens when it's dark." Zach reminds us again even though I don't know what's out there. I don't even want to know.

"You know what would happen if she got in the hands of our people, or even the enemy's Zach?" Daniel questions him staring sternly.

"They will kill her either from fear or by law." Eben finishes.

"What law?" I ask cowering into Daniel.

"Human liability. The people will think that Jonah brought you here and execute you both because until you get the items you will be only a human with a tattoo." Eben answers for me. A loud pound comes from a cross the room.

"Oh shit."
