October 3rd, 2018"Sanna" a whisper called out. I looked around the room trying to point out a person but no one was there.
"No no no no" I dropped to the floor grabbing my head. The voices are back! Why?!
"Please make it stop! Just make it stop!" I yelled at myself in anguish."Sanam..." The voice of whispers taunted me. This time it was a lot louder as it came from the abyss.
"STOP!!" I shouted, and the room went completely quiet.
"That's it!" I yelled at myself.
I ran to my phone and dialed a number."Dr. Syrian I need your help.. now" I gasped.
"Are you alright Ms.Crane?" Dr. Syrian gasped into the phone.
"Something is happening to me!" I whimpered.
"Ok Come immediately" Dr. Syrian said sternly, and quickly hung up the phone.
I ran out of my dorm room, scampering through the campus halls. Running out into the halls half way dressed, and the heals of my feet hanging out of the back of my black flats. I scattered through the halls, pushing my way through colleagues. Exiting the front doors of the school, running towards the Main Street to catch a taxi from the long streaks of cars that sat along the side walk.
I knocked softly on the passenger window, trying to get the attention of the sleeping driver that sat behind the wheel. He jumped up in shock, and rolled down the window a small bit, just enough for me to speak through."I need to go somewhere" I wailed.
"Sorry hun, I'm waiting for someone else" the driver added suspiciously while rolling the window back up.
"Please it's an emergency!" I exclaimed through the cracking window as it continued rolling up.
"Get in!" The driver argued, throwing up his hand in frustration, while pointing towards the back seat. I swung open the back seat door, and jumped in.
He started up the car and drove frantically out of the line of cars, and onto the road.
"Where are we headed?" The driver asked."133 Graidlen ave. Building A6" I breathed as I tried to contain myself in the backseat.
"Sanna..." The voice whispered loudly, Catching me off guard as I jumped back into the seat, covering my ears.
"Are you ok?" The driver said as he eyed me from the rear view mirror.
"Yes" I lied, while uncovering my ears.
He pushed hard on the gas petal, causing the car to jerk forward.I sat quietly in the back seat, staring out the window into the foggy distance. Hoping we could get to the destination a lot faster before what was left of my brain vanished with the rest of my sanity.
we pulled over to the side of the building, and I swung open the door before the taxi made a complete stop."That'll be $15.00" The driver stated sternly before I exited the car.
I dug into my pants pocket, and pulled a twenty dollar bill from deep within.
"Here keep the change" I flung my arm between the passenger and driver seat, and he gripped onto the money.I walked towards the building, passing through the stares of strangers that questioned my appearance. My shirt was wrinkled, and not completely buttoned , my hair a knotted mess and my feet remained halfway out of my shoes. I made my way towards the receptionist, hoping she didn't gaze hysterically at my attire.
"Hello can I help you?" The receptionist asked concernedly.
"I need to see Dr. Syrian" I begged.
"Your name please?" The woman asked calmly.
"Sanam Crane" I answered quickly, and her fingers began typing on the keyboard in front of her.
"He is expecting you, do you mind signing in?" The woman pointed to the pen and clipboard that laid on the desk below me. I gripped the pen, and started signing my name on the dotted line below others.
"Suite 4" The woman stated.
"Thank you" I sat the pen back down onto the clipboard, and sprinted towards the elevator.
