"Uncle!" I screamed. We all looked behind me. Zombies were coming, and closing in on us. His car was down a long, narrow, street... we all took off. I ran forever, my feet must have been broken from hitting that pavement. I ran and ran. My heart gave out and I fell. I was dragged into the car. We ran zombies over, and just down a few roads.

We rushed into a house. We all fell asleep, on the floor, in the front room. I was woken. A car stopped in the front of the house. Whoever was in it was not visible. It continued to roll down. From the back window, I saw a dead body at the wheel. I stood in shock. I had told mother and uncle Mike. The house was empty. It was now claimed ours.

All we mainly did for about three days was chill but starved. I barely wanted to talk or move. Without father, I felt worthless, no meaning, and I told we needed to get our dog, Rufus, that is now at the house.
