*Prologue*

"Hey Ali!" My best friend Erin called.

"Hey Erin." I said, continuing walking through the halls of Weston High, the music school I went to. It was all about singing, dancing, and acting. I loved it so much.

"Are we still on for tonight?" She asked.

I nodded enthusiastically. "Of course!"

Erin's grin lights up her bright blue eyes. She was gorgeous: her perfect curled blonde hair, her striking blue eyes, her perfect figure and sweet personality. She was an amazing best friend, and I was really lucky to have her.

"Great. I've got to go get some stuff from my locker, so I'll meet you out front. Just hang with Alek, ok?"

"Will do." I said with a smile, walking out to the front door as Erin headed off the opposite way, back to her locker. I saw Alek, my other best friend, outside, leaning back against a wall looking extremely bored. Alek was a really great person, and he was the most original person I knew. He was misunderstood, just like Erin and I. I had known them both since 4th grade. Alek had his blonde hair in a mohawk-ish thing. He wore skinny jeans and a t-shirt with a black leather jacket on top.

"Hey there!" I said, tapping him on the shoulder.

"Hey Al," he said smiling.

"Why so bored looking?" I asked.

"Only because you weren't here lovey," he teased, and we laughed. We had a bad habit of teasing each other like that. We had always done it, it had become a routine for us.

"Are you driving us to Erin's?"

"Mhm,"

"You seem out of it," I pointed out.

"What?" He asked, and I laughed.

"Told you!"

"Ready to go?" Erin popped up behind us, making me jump.

"Piggy back ride?" I pleaded to Alek.

"Hop on." Alek answered, and I squealed with joy. I stood up on one of the benches and jumped on his back, making all of us laugh. We were all really close. Like family.

They were the only family I had besides my older brother Jack, who was 20 so he could legally care for me.

Erin walked beside Alek with me on his back through the parking lot and to Alek's worn-out car. We called her Rust Bucket, which was exactly what that car was. A rust bucket. But it was our ride, so neither me or Erin could pass it up.

I dropped off of Alek's back and got in the passengers seat. Erin was stuck in the back seat, which she hated, and Alek drove, as usual.

"To Ali's house we go!" Erin yelled as Alek turned on the ignition, laughing.

After about 10 minutes of me ranting about how my day was, we pulled up in my driveway. I went up to the front door, throwing it open. Jack was standing at the kitchen counter, eating an apple. My apple.

"I told you not to eat that one! I wanted it!" I whined, and Jack laughed at me.

"Not my fault!" He said, greeting Erin and Alek.

"You suck."

"Love you too," he teased back, and Alek walked over to the fridge, drinking milk right out of the carton. I groaned, following Erin to my room.

"Why are we here anyway?" Alek asked, leaving the milk on the counter.

"We need to get ready, and then we'll go." Erin answered.

"Where are we going again?" I asked. I easily forgot things, which sucked really bad for me.

I picked up a brush and ran it through my brunette hair that I had dyed red. My hazel eyes stared back at me in the mirror. I was wearing light washed skinny jeans with huge rips in them, DC's (which I loved more then anything in the world), a pale pink tank and a hot pink sweatshirt.

"Downtown, just like every Friday stupid!" Alek said jokingly.

"Jerk!" I teased back, re-applying my mascara.

"Ready?" I asked, setting down my mascara and looking over at Erin, who was using my eyeliner.

"Let's get outta here." She said, and we headed out the door to go downtown, where they had karaoke night every Friday.

"I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise. To fly, to fly," Erin sang the end of the song Fly by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna after I had finished the rap. The crowd went crazy, applause all over. Almost everyone from our school came to karaoke night at one of the popular cafe's downtown. It was our night to shine. Alek always came, he was whistling and clapping louder then anyone. I grinned, looking over at Erin who was giggling. Her eyes seemed to sparkle when she laughed.

"Amazing, as usual." Alek said as we walked off stage, sitting at our table with him.

"Next up is Missy Thomas and Kaydie Sherwood!" Mike, the announcer, said loudly into the as the two biggest jerks I'd ever met in my life walked up on the stage.

Missy and Kaydie were the queen bee's. I had only been at this school for 2 weeks and I already knew that, judging by the way they talked about everybody behind their backs, bullied, and wore more make-up then a Victoria's Secret model. They were.... ugh.

Pure bitches.

I hated them.

"We're going to sing Swagger Jagger by Cher Lloyd." Missy said in her sweetest voice, and her biggest fan Kaydie nodded. I rolled my eyes.

I had to admit they were good, but I liked the song Swagger Jagger, and I hated that they of all people just HAD to sing. Ugh.

"They aren't bad." Alek leaned over and whispered in my ear. "But you and Erin are a million times better."

"Thank you."

"Any time love bird," he winked and leaned back in his chair, leaving me rolling my eyes and giggling at how stupid he was.

They finished and sat back down as the night went on, people going on and off the stage singing.

After about 2 hours the cafe closed up and kicked everyone out, so we went back to Erin's place.

We watched movies all night and fell asleep on the couch at around 5 am. Just like always. I woke up in the morning curled up with Alek, his arm wrapped around me.

Just like always.

Life couldn't get better then this.
