Jacob's pov 

I wake up and look over at the clock on my dresser and see that it was midnight. I push the covers off and get out of bed and head straight towards the kitchen. On my way there I stop by Nicole's room that is next door to my room. I look in and see Keith asleep at Nicole's desk and Nicole sleeping peacefully. I lean my head on the door jam and stare at her. She looks so innocent when sleeping. I close her door and head to the kitchen. I go to the cupboard and grab a glass and fill it with water from the faucet. I sit on the couch and put my glass on the coffee table and drift off to sleep.

Keith's pov

I wake up to the feeling of being watched I lift my head up and watch the door close. I put my head back on my arm. I start to drift back to sleep when I hear Nicole talking. I look over in her direction and see her toss and turn then next thing I know she is screaming and in tears. I get up and walk over to her bed and shake her awake. Her eyes fly open when my hand touches her shoulder. She immediately starts shaking. I pull her into a hug while I rub her back to try to comfort her and thought to myself 'I wonder what she dreamed about to make her this way.' "Do you feel any better?" "Yes, thanks for that." she says while wiping away her tears. I get up and head to the door to get her a glass of water before she stopped me. "Please don't leave me alone, I just don't think i can handle another dream like that." I head back to where she was and sat down as she put her head on my chest. I feel my face get hotter as I start to blush hoping she never noticed. In a matter of minutes she was asleep.

Nicole's pov 

I wake up to someone's hand on my shoulder. I look up and see Keith staring at me with worry in his eyes. I start crying when I remember what my dream was.

~flash back to dream~

I was sitting on the grass watching the stars as I did every night. I suddenly hear screams and hop up and run as fast as I could in the direction of the scream. When I got there I saw bodies as far as I could see. I head up to the main building and see a fight between my father and my step-father. They were literally covered in scars. I then see my step-father stab my dad through his chest. I run over to him and catch him before he hit the ground. I lay him on the ground as softly as I could. "Y-You need t-to get o-out of here N-Nicole" my father said as he started to cough up blood. "I don't understand everything was fine when I left to go somewhere. When did he get here anyways." I ask while I try to stop the bleeding wound on my fathers chest. "He arrived shortly after you left. Now, go leave here. But always remember that I love you." and with that he was dead. I lay his head on the floor and run my fingers down his eyes to shut them. I get up and turn to face my step-father. I pull out twin katanas out of the weapon world. I run towards him and swung my left katana at him. He blocked it and I sent my right one at him only to have him block that one. "Oh, well my dear Nicole I taught you better than to swing sharp objects at people." he says with a devilish grin on his face. I pull my katanas out of the tangle and send them back to the weapons world just to pull out two swords that are longer and are lighter so they travel through the air much faster. I swing them at him and when he doesn't expect it I kick him in the stomach and he falls to the ground. I throw my left sword away and raise my right one over his head. I am bringing it down when something stabs me through the chest. I look and see a knife planted into my heart. I drop my sword and fall to the floor. My step-father gets up and grabs my sword and sends it through my skull.

~end of flash back~

  He pulls me into a hug rubs my back. "Do you feel any better?" he asks with a caring voice. "Yes, thanks for that." I wipe my face off and look up to see Keith walking towards the door. "Please don't leave me alone, I just can't handle another dream like that." I ask with urgency in my voice. He heads back towards me and sits down. I put my head on his chest and listened to his heart beat. And in a matter of minutes I am asleep again.  

~the next day~

I wake up and roll over when I fell something shift beside me. When I am facing the other direction I see Keith's face looking so peaceful while he is sleeping. I get up and walk out of my room to find Jacob asleep on the couch with the tv on. I walk over and turn the tv off and head outside and sit in one of the chairs on the patio. I pull my feet up to my chest and wrap my arms around my knees.

Jacobs pov

I wake up when I hear the door close. I get up and walk to a window and see Nicole sit in one of the patio chairs. I walk to the door and walk out side. "What are you doing out here all by yourself?" She turns her head around and looks at me with tired eyes. "Wow you look dead." I say as I sit in the chair next to her. "I couldn't sleep last night. I just kept waking up. I just to go to sleep but I can't." I look at her as she stares at the lake. I get up and grab her hand and pull her up. I sit in her seat and she sits on my lap and lays her head on my chest. It was this way for ten minutes until I hear rhythmic breathing. I look down and see that Nicole fell asleep. The door opens behind me and I turn to see who it is. I see that its that guy we brought back with us yesterday. "So that's where she is" he says with jealosy in his voice. "Were you looking for her for a particular reason. Or are you just following her around." I asked wondering what she means to him. "Well at least I don't follow people around like the dog you are" he says getting angry. "She was right, you do have anger issues." I say laughing. He gets up and walks back inside the house. I look down at Nicole and see her stir. Her eyes flutter open and up towards me. "Well sleeping beauty how was your cat nap." I say holding back a laugh. "Fine. Who were you talking to exactly. The conversation seemed heated." she asks with those beautiful gold eyes. I ruffle her hair and lift her up so I can stand. "Geez you made my legs falls asleep." She starts laughing and walks up to me and wraps her arms around my neck. I move my head towards her and see her do the same. She pulls my head the rest of the way and kisses me passionaitely. We pull away breathing hard and I put my head on hers. She looks up at me and walks back into the house.
