"Nuh-uh,... really? Please, tell me you're joking." She grinned at me. "Nope,.. I wish."
I mentally rolled my eyes and turned the car around.
"So... You're not like one of those creepy guys who pick up girls to do things.. Right?" She said in a joking tone, but I could hear the worry in her voice.
I looked over and gave her a reassuring smile. "Uh, no. I'm not. Haha. Do I really look that type?"
She just looks down at her lap and mumbles a 'no'. I turn up the radio and Moving On by Asking Alexandria comes on. I smile and start singing.
"I've never been so torn up, in all of my life.
I should have seen this coming.
I've never felt so hopeless, than I do tonight.
I don't wanna do this anymore.
I'm moving on..."
I look over to her staring.
I turn the radio down. "Uh... Did I do something wrong?"
She smiles, "Oh, no no no. You just sing.. Really good." I smile. "Thank you."
The song continues to play and I don't sing. She kept staring and I was getting a little uncomfortable.
"Are you sure you aren't those kind of people who kill the people who try to help them?" I say with a smirk but say it seriously. She lets out a small giggle. "Of course not."
I look to the road and speed up a bit, hitting 70 mph in a 50 mph zone.
I'm a city block away from actually reaching the city. I hadn't realized how far into the country I drove.
I glance at the time, 2:35 pm. Fuck, I've been gone for awhile. My parents are gonna kill me. And probably literally.
I reach the city lights and signal to turn right. Once green, I drive down and take a left. This was gonna be one hell of a drive. I keep straight for awhile, then turn right again. After what seems like a hundred twists and turns, I reach her driveway. She quickly jumps out and yells out a thanks and runs inside the gate.
I wonder what that was about.. I think.
I turn around and quickly drive back out the way I came. I reach those lights again and this time I keep straight. And eventually, I get home.
I get out of my car an use the car lock to lock and set the alarm on my car. I live in the"ghetto" area and we've already been robbed once.
I walk up the steps and open the door and I'm instantly pulled inside and thrown to the floor..
