>Akira POV<

It was day three in that stupid mortal school I have to attend. The bell rang, signaling the end of fifth period and the arrival of lunch time. I grabbed my bento, which contained sticky rice, two boiled eggs, mixed vegetables, and some dango for desert, and I headed for a nice, quiet place to eat.

I chose the roof.

I sat down and began eating silently. I listened to the silence and allowed myself to relax a bit.

"Found her!"

I jumped, immediately tensing as Rin and the other kids from the exorcising class ran over to me.

"Hey, we thought we'd never find you." Renzou said as he and the others sat around me. I scowled at them.

"Go away." I said coldly.

"Nope." Rin said with a grin. "We're all eating lunch together."

I sighed in annoyance.

"If you won't leave, then I will." I said, putting the lid on my bento as I put my scythe on my back and stood. A strong hand wrapped around my wrist and I glared at Bon. I don't believe that's his real name, but it's what everyone always calls him.

"Sit." He ordered. I stared at his hand coldly, not liking how my stomach twisted.

"Let me go." I said icily. He didn't flinch under my glare, just hardened his own.

"No. Not until you sit down."

I stared emotionlessly at him for a long while before sighing in annoyance and sitting down again. He released my wrist and I immediately used my new found speed to flash to the stairs. They looked at me in surprise as I stared coldly at them.

"If you all were smart you'd stay away from me." I growled lowly. I jumped off the roof, landing in a tree. I climbed down to the ground, scaring a small group of people as I hit the ground beside them. I walked off to find a new lunch spot.

I entered the classroom of the exorcising class and moved to the farthest corner to sit alone. No sooner had I sat down did the other students get up and sit in the desks around me. I glared at every one of them with pure annoyance.

Why the hell can't they just hate me? I've been nothing but a jerk to them. Why can't they just avoid me like everyone else?

I stood and lept upwards, landing on a rafter. I heard them muttering to one another and smirked, believing that those weak mortals had no chance of making it up here.

"Hey."

"What the hell?!" I yelled, jumping a good foot in the air and staring at Rin in shock. He grinned happily.

"So you can show emotion!" He said. I narrowed my eyes at him and gave him the iciest glare I could. He sighed heavily. "Listen. I know why you don't want to make bonds. And-"

"You know nothing about me." I snapped, venom pouring from my voice.

"Maybe not." He said with a nod. "But I've got a good idea of what you're going through."

"Tch! What would you know?" I scoffed. "Forget it. I don't care what you think you know." I said, standing and jumping to a different rafter.

"I know you're the spawn of Natas." He said, jumping over to stand beside me. My eyes widened as my hand gripped the rafter a bit too tightly, making part of it splinter in my grasp.

"How do you know that?!" I spat, grabbing his collar and slamming his back into the wall. He coughed painfully and closed one eye. All was silent as the others watched carefully. "The only way you would know that is if you were there that night. Are you an accomplice of Natas?" I growled.

"No! No I'm not!" He choked out quickly.

"Then how.......?" I hissed.

"Call it.... Demons intuition?" He grinned goofily. My eyes widened again before narrowing again.

"What would a weak mortal like you know about demons?" I demanded.

"I'm not mortal, not completely anyways." He said. He took a deep breath and little blue flames sprouted up all over his body as a pointed tail slipped from the waistband of his pants. He gave me an awkward smile. "I'm the spawn of Satan. Me and my brother Yukio."

My eyes widened as I released him, taking a step back.

"You too..." I whispered, completely shocked that I wasn't the only one. He grinned and nodded before going back to normal.

"Yeah. Me too." He said. He sat cross legged on the rafter, gesturing to the space in front of him. "So can I talk to you?"

I stared at him a bit longer, pondering.

"I.... I suppose...." I whispered, sitting across from him. His grin grew.

"Great. Now I understand why you're trying to push everyone away." He said. "You don't want them to get hurt, or mixed up in what's going on."

I nodded to confirm it and scowled.

"But unfortunately you all can't just hate me like the others." I grumbled.

"It's because we want to help you like my friends helped me."

I looked at him, pure confusion breaking through my facade before I pushed the useless expression away.

"What could mortals do against the strongest demon in history?" I demanded. "My dad was one of the most skilled exorcists and my mom was the best Buddhist monk in all of Tokyo and possibly the world. Yet they were no match for him!" I yelled, struggling to control myself as images from that night flashed through my mind. "Tch!" I pressed the heel of my hand against my good eye in an attempt to hold back tears. A hand landed on my shoulder and I shook my head. "You don't understand. Satan used was believed to be the strongest evil in the world, but he's nothing compared to Natas. If anyone gets close to me, Natas will murder them. It will be a never ending cycle until I agree to help him overthrow humanity. My only option is to be alone for the rest of my life so no one gets hurt." I moved my hand and looked at his sad face. "Rin, you've all got family, friends who love you. I couldn't bear to take you from the world and hurt those people like Natas hurt me."

"You've got family too Akira" Rin whispered.

"I have to sever my bond with Loki so he can live." I growled, glaring at my fists.

"Akira." Rin said, putting his hands on my shoulders. I looked at him in surprise. "Whether you like it or not, we are your friends. It doesn't matter what you think is going to happen, nothing is set in stone."

I swat his hands away with a scowl and pushed him away.

"Don't you get it?!" I yelled at him. I flipped up my eyepatch and showed him my eye in an attempt to scare him. I think it worked by the way his eyes widened and he paled. "Getting close to me will get you killed, Rin! You and everyone you hold dear! I'm cursed to be alone forever! But as long as no one dies because of me, I don't give a damn! Just stay the hell away from me!"

With that I jumped to the floor and bolted of the door. Running towards the abandoned and run-down dorm I stay in.
