I am here to tell you that you are worthless, hopeless, and helpless. You are nobody, and your existence means nothing. I will suck the energy and motivation out of you, until you no longer want to get out of bed in the morning. I will affect every single one of your lives, whether it is through a loved one, such as your mom, your uncle, or your best friend. Or some of you will experience me first hand. I have killed many people each year, and I don't discriminate based on age, gender, race, skin color, gender, or religion. Who am I? I am depression.

If you scroll on my facebook's timeline , you'll see lot of posts of how angry and how depressed your friends are. Different persons with different personalities and perspectives which makes me think that the world right now is in the middle of a mental health crisis. Study shows almost half the population suffers from depression at some stage throughout their life. So I guess, I'm quite popular especially to millennials nowadays.

Motivational speakers say that it's important for you to learn why you get down, and how you can change it, because believe it or not, you create your our own negative feelings and can also ensure that you can turn your lives around and be a positive change for others. But don't change yourselves. Be who you are. Why not join the club and meet me?

The reason anyone gets depressed always comes down to the consistency of thoughts you think and the beliefs you hold. Let me say that again. The reason anyone gets depressed always comes down to the consistency of thoughts you think, and the beliefs we hold.

If you believe you're fat, short, horrible, ugly and unworthy of love, you will most likely become depressed or have depression thoughts. If your thought process is "I must be in a relationship and earn 6-digit salary every month to be happy", you might get depression if you don't achieve those goals. The point here is that anyone that is depressed have lost something outside of their control, or don't have something that is out of their control. As many people get depressed, it makes me happier because I don't want to be alone. As they say, the more the merrier.

Most common reasons for depression I know are : a lost a job, relationship break-ups or non existence, body image, comparison to others.
The only way out of this is to work on yourself, every day.

I've seen some people, who many would consider to "have it all" end their life because they thought they were not good enough. A thought, a belief within them told them they were not worthy. Take Demi Lovato for exanple. She drugged herself to death because she thought she's not good enough. She's a personthat many were jealous of, many envious of, but still think that she's not good enough.

What I want you to know is that if you don't like to spend time with me in a dark and lonely room, you must value yourself enough, to take the time EVERY SINGLE DAY to work on you. To engage in something, that will ensure you are a positive influence on the world. This of course doesn't mean life will suddenly be perfect. The same life-challenges will show up, but if your mind is stronger, if your mind is at peace, your reaction to the challenging times will be very different.

Your reaction will be HOW CAN I MAKE THIS WORK, not 'why is this happening to me'
And then others will look to you, not with pity but with HOPE, because your strength will become their HOPE, their strength.

It's hard for me to sat this because I want to see more people get depressed but sure I'll say it anyway as if you will believe me. Don't give up! You are worthy! You are more than worthy! You deserve to experience how great life can be – and you owe it to the world to be that positive change for others. To inspire others – who will look to you and say – he did it, she did it, and you did it!

In the end, if we ever crossed our paths again, you'll just look at me and say, "I know you but I don't want to be acquainted with you anymore!". And I probably would feel sad when that time comes. But hey! I can always introduce myself again. "Hi. I am depression!"
