Chapter 9 - Doubts

I woke up to the loud alarm, blaring at my ears. I shot up, dazed and half asleep, but only to collapse back onto my bed. My eyes started to close but I heard my phone ring from a distance and got up to answer.

I looked at the caller's id and immediately smiled. It was Jason.

I quickly picked up the call, eager to hear his sweet voice.

"Babe time to wake up!" he shouted through the phone. 

I pulled the phone from my ears, groaning.

"It's so earlyy," I argued, "let me sleep for just ten more minutes alright?"

"Nonono," he said quickly, "you are going to get up and change. right. now"

"Cmon please," I whined.

"Nope."

"Yes."

"Absolutely not."

"Please?"

"No no and no." he said finally.

"Fine," I said, giving up.

"I'll be outside yours at about 7 okay?" he said.

"Okay babe, " I said, "See you later!"

So I began to get ready, just the usual: brushing my teeth, showering, getting dressed etc. I went down, making my way to the kitchen to grab a biscuit to eat on the way to school. The kitchen was covered in marble, in the way that I liked it, and was not necessarily clean. Well, I tried my best. I was lucky, though, my parents weren't home, as they went overseas for a month to sort out some business complications. 

I heard knocking on the door and quickly grabbed my stuff and proceeded to open the door. I was greeted with a very enthusiastic Jason, grinning. 

"Ready babe?" he asked.

He was referring to our relationship. We were going to tell everyone today, and 'everyone' meaning our small group of friends we both have. I smiled back.

"Yeah," I said assuredly, before intertwining my hand with his and started walking on my way to hell, oh I mean school.

We reached school and I could see many eyes on us already. We walked along the hallways, attempting to avoid stares from others but ended up making people more curious.

I went towards my locker and got my books for first period.

The bell rang, signally it was time for lunch. I quickly got up, desperate to see my two best friends and ran to the canteen, without stopping at my locker. As I entered, I saw my two buddies sitting on the 'middle table' as we like to call it, as it was situated in the middle of the large canteen.

"Hey guys," I greeted.

"Hey Bella," they responded, waving at me.

I sat down, seeing that they both had gotten food for me already. I thanked them and sat down, trying not to say much until Jason arrives.

"So," Quinn said, interrupting the silence, "I heard you came in hand in hand with some guy this morning."

"Oh erm yeah," I said, biting my lip, "he should be here in a minute."

"I see..." Kennedy said, smirking right at me. 

"I blushed and looked down before I felt an arm on my shoulder. I turned to see Jason, taking a seat next to me, looking gorgeous as ever. 

"I suppose you're talking about me," he said, looking at the three of us.

"I mean, you both are the hot topic of the school right now," Quinn said, her eyes pointing to the people sitting the table next to us, who were staring at me and Jason.

"Oh..." Jason realised, as if he didn't know that the moment he walked in.

An awkward silence fell over us. That was when I decided to introduce Jason to the girls.

"So erm," I started, "this is Jason and Jason this is Quinn and Kennedy."

"Hi." said Kennedy and Quinn in unison.

I swear they must be long lost twins.

"Hey," replied Jason.

Silence again.

Deciding I couldn't handle anymore, I asked Jason to help me put my books in my locker, so I had time to talk with Kennedy and Quinn to find out what's wrong. I felt mean, but what has to be done, has to be done.

Jason nodded and got up, picking up my books and heading to the lockers.

Making sure Jason was out of sight. I asked Kennedy and Quinn if anything was wrong.

"Hey, why are you guys acting like this?" I asked, cautiously, awaiting their answer.

"I don't like him." said Kennedy, being the straightforward bitch of the group.

"Yeah, same" agreed Quinn.

"Why?" I questioned.

"It's just, it's not right..." hesitated Quinn.

Kennedy nodded.

"What's not right?" I asked.

"I don't know..." they both replied.
