A snake burst out of the tip of Izzy's wand.
I took a deep breath and spoke.
"No, away," but it came out as, "ʃe, Sine."
The snake flopped on the floor and disappeared.
"I did," Izzy said. "And you gave me something."
"What?" I asked.
Izzy pulled down her shirt collar.
And on the left side of her neck was a thin scar, in the shape of a bolt of lightning.
