The wind was blowing and the leaves were rustling on the trees. All Ann knew was that her back ached and she was laying on something very hard and cold, and all she could see was darkness. She didn't want to open her eyes, all she wanted was to fall back asleep and not wake up for another ten hours. But, as she felt something touch her hair, she shot up and opened her eyes, her body turning around to see Harry laying on the concrete of her driveway.

"What the hell, Harry!" She ran her fingers through her hair, clearly frustrated. "What are you doing!?"

He was grinning, and it was becoming very annoying how much he smiled. "I saw you asleep on your driveway and I came to see if you were okay."

"I'm fine." She stood up then and he looked up at her.

"Why were you asleep on your driveway?"

She shrugged and looked up at the sky that was filled with stars. "I was just out here thinking and then I fell asleep."

He stood up also. "Want to go on a walk?"

"It's pitch black."

"So?"

He was staring right at her and she swallowed before sighing. "Fine."

He smiled before resting his arm on her shoulders, causing her to give him a weird look. "What?"

She shook her head. "Nothing."

They walked side by side, Harry's fingers brushing the tip of her shoulder lightly once in a while. Her eyes were glancing around nervously and he clicked his tongue. "Do you like it here so far?"

She looked at him and shrugged, her eyes staring at the ground. "I guess. Not many friends so far, but it's alright."

"Hey, don't I count?" She felt heat rise to her cheeks and he grinned, his dimples completely coming out of hiding.

"Of course." She bumped her hip with his and he smiled widely. "I just feel like I don't belong here. I don't even know how my mom could afford such a house."

The cold wind blew against her skin and he wrapped his arm tighter around her, hoping his warmth would radiate onto her skin. "Of course you belong here."

She shrugged and shook her head. "Marie would think otherwise."

He sighed, his curly hair falling in front of his face and he looked down at the concrete. "Don't listen to her." He then stopped and turned to face her, grabbing her face in his hands. She took a double take and chuckled as he squished her cheeks together. "Seriously, Ann. You are honestly such an amazing person." he tilted his head to the side. "Well I at least hope you are. I don't really know you too well."

She took a deep breath and nodded before he let go of her face and wrapped his arm around her shoulder once again, her arm hesitating as she wrapped it around his waist.

"Thank you," Ann muttered as Harry walked her up to her door. It was midnight, two hours past her curfew, but at this moment, she didn't care. Her eyes traveled up his tall frame and he was grinning, a dimple poking out. "I needed that walk, you know? It gave me time to think."

Harry held his hand up and smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow, Ann."

She was expecting something; a hug, kiss on the cheek, anything, but as he turned on his heels and walked away, she knew that she was only overthinking the relationship they had. She was a friend to him, nothing more. And he was a friend to her, nothing more.

She turned and slowly opened the door and closed it quietly before slowly tiptoeing up to her room, her mom sleeping soundly in the master bedroom downstairs.

As she got to her room, she walked over to her window and just got a glimpse of Harry closing his curtains. She was being stupid, she knew that.

She was infactuated with the boy next door, and she knew that she didn't have a single chance with him.
