Sophie
"SOPHIE?!" Amy's eyes widened as she spotted Sophie in the dining room.
"SHHHH!" Sophie shushed her sister. "Mom and Dad can't hear. They think it's normal that I'm here!"
"Why are you here?" Amy whispered.
Sophie mumbled under her breath.
"Sophie. What the heck happened? Is this permanent?" Amy looked hopeful.
"IdidsomethingbadandIgoterasedfromeveryonesminds," Sophie spluttered. She covered her face with her hands. "This might as well be permanent."
"What did you do?!" Amy removed one of Sophie's hands from her face. "Was it the bad cloaky people's fault? Or the sparkly castle campers?"
"If you mean the Councillors by the sparkly castle campers, then yes, but it was mostly my fault," Sophie recalled the sheer panic she felt when Alina was pointing the melder at her. "I messed up. It's a long story... but we've got time."
~~~
Sophie wiped her eyes frantically. Amy walked into the room and stopped. "Sophie? Are you okay?"
Sophie gave her a dirty look.
"Well, yeah, duh. You're not. But you're literally curled in a ball sobbing. What else was I supposed to say?" Amy rolled her eyes. "I was just thinking... when you wiped my memory the first time, I saw you and it came back. Can't we do that with your friends? And your elf parents?"
The realization dawned on Sophie. "They can only fully erase the memories with my help! You're a genius, Amy!"
Amy blushed and poked Sophie in the ribs with her elbow. "Nah, you're the prodigy."
Sophie laughed. "Do you still have your imparter?"
Amy nodded and pulled it from her pocket. "I always keep it with me. Just in case. Who do you want to call?"
A thousand names rushed through her head. Fitz. Keefe. Biana. Grady. Edaline.
But then she knew right away who her first call needed to be. The friend who introduced her into Foxfire. Who she now realized she hadn't paid enough attention to.
Sophie took a deep breath. "Show me Dex Dizznee."
