Chapter 5
I wakeup to a hard kick in my side, and sit up immediately, my eyes wide open with pain and anger, ready to hit someone.
"What the heck?!" I yell.
"Time to get up!" am man yells back, standing tall over me.
"Why the heck did you freak-en kick me then?!"
"Because you wouldn't wake up!"
"You didn't have to kick me!"
"And I should care why?"
"Oh forget it! I give up!" I shout while standing up on the mattress keeping a distance away from him.
"What do you give up?"
"On men! Now what do you want from me?!" he hesitates for a moment before he answers the question.
"Follow me," all the frustration leaves his voice as he calms down. He turns around and heads for the door, I follow him slowly, anger still boiling inside of me.
We walk down what seems to be the 50th hallway until we finally stop at a door. 2 guards stand on either side of the door and open it slowly and we walk in. The room is full of other girls, almost all of them my age, some older. About 9 guards fill the room standing against the walls, silent. A couple other men are also in the room, most of them from last night, including Sal. I feel eyes on me from all around the room, the man who brought me here walked away and stood by a man sitting in a chair, a drink in his hand.
I walk slowly away from the door and towards the other girls. I sit down by a wall close by the girls but far enough away from one of the guards. I lean my head against the wall and take in a large amount of air before releasing it. I focus my gaze on a wall on the other side of the room, trying not to look at anyone. Blurs begin to form in my eyes as I continue to stare at nothing but the wall for what seems like 30 minutes. I blink my eyes a couple times before looking away from the wall and once more scan the room.
I turn to the men either standing or sitting down and begin to observe them. They were all looking at all the girls, including me, and seem to be discussing something with each other. I can't hear anything that they are saying past the loud laughter of the girls, making me frustrated. Suddenly one of the men motions for a guard who quickly comes to his side and he whispers into the guards ear. The guard nods and walks away towards us, he maneuvers his way through the crowed of girls slowly making his way in my direction. I stare at him with caution, never taking my eyes off of him as he stops in front of me. I stand up, still leaning against the wall.
"They wish to see you," the guard says, motioning for me to follow him. I follow behind him, scanning the room. The guard walks back to where he was before leaving me standing there along in front of all of the men staring at me.
"Hello Allura," some of them say in unison. "you're probably wondering why you're here."
"Not really," It was kind of the truth, I could kind of guess why.
"Really?" some of them begin to look at each other for a few seconds, completely silent except for the constant laughing of the girls.
"Yes, why is there something that I need to know?" I look at each of them, making eye contact with though's that I could, most of them wouldn't dare to make contact.
"Yes, there is." one of them say. He like Sal was about in his 30's, his hair already beginning to turn gray, dark brown eyes and a dark suit with a black tie. "There is going to be an auction this Friday, and we plan on having YOU in it."
"Figures..." I mutter under my breath.
"What?"
"Nothing, is there anything else?" I say folding my arms across my chest.
"Try not causing trouble," he replies slightly strict.
"Not happening, now excuse me, I've got a escape to plan."
I turn around on my heels and walk away at a steady pace, blending into the crowd of girls. I let a smile take over my face, because they have no idea how stupid they are!
