|Clary|
I was at the edge of a pack border, I could tell it was a border because I could smell many wolves from where they ran past her on patrols. My life had been screwed up for the last month, and that was putting it lightly. I felt like I was about to go insane.
My front paws were torn to shreds, I was having trouble standing, but I was managing. The undergrowth between the trees started to shift with someone, or something, trying to come thorough. I tried to back away to show I meant no harm but my legs chose that time to fail.
I was laying on the ground, now defenceless as the thing came closer, as it stepped out of the trees in front of me I saw it was a white wolf. The color was so dissimilar to my own midnight black coat that it seemed to glow.
Then the scent hit me, the scent of peppermint and a bright summer day. There were scents that I didn't even know existed coming from this wolf. Judging by the size of the wolf in front of me it was an alpha, my mate was an alpha.

The pack was still being led by my parents and they gave me the job of guard wile out actual guard healed. That had been on hell of a vampire attack, leaving almost 700 of our 1,500 wolf pack unable to actually do their jobs.
I had almost hit the border when I caught the scent. It was faint but sweet as honey. It was the most wonderful scent ever, I was moving toward it before I gave myself permission to. My wolf was in control and moving us toward our mate.
Coming through the trees, and the last barrier that concealed her from me. She was laying on the ground and looked horrible, as if someone had done everything in their power to kill her and she had barely escaped with her life.
I approached her and she started whining. This is why it was taboo to kick a female out of a pack. I shifted, though my wolf didn't want to let me. I was leaning over her when she realized I was human.
"Can you please shift?" I asked, trying to show how much I wanted to her her human form in my eyes and voice.
She tried to stand again and I backed away, watching as she shifted. I didn't really know the extent of the damage till she was standing in front of me. Her arms were torn from what looked to be something silver and dull as the wounds were jagged and slightly singed on the edges.
"Who did this to you?" I half growled.
She said one of the very few thing that could have made me full out growl, "Werewolf hunters."
