Chapter 3

Max's POV

I guess it's better that I have to endure the curse after someone else has, so I at least know a little bit and can say I have some experience. I can't tell my mom and dad for sure; they are so overprotective they probably wouldn't let me out of the house ever again. I definitely felt comfortable telling Greg, as I've known him basically my entire life and we are like brothers.

He says he will stay by my side every second of the day at school in case he needs to reverse a command given by someone, whether on accident or on purpose.

So he literally stays by my side all day at school the next day. Even when Avery waves me over in the hall to ask me about yesterdays homework *gasp*! Maybe he is finally starting to notice me! But as I walk away I see him kiss his girlfriend, and I try to forget. No one commands me today, so it's wonderful. That is, until I drop Greg off at his house and go to my own house.

Dad is away on a business trip, like usual, and Mom doesn't get home till 6, so I got the house to myself. Except not really myself, because Lucinda is sitting on the couch. Again. I shouldn't be at all surprised to see her there, but that doesn't stop me from jumping. "What do you want Lucinda? You've already ruined the rest of my life, what more could you want?"

"Oh, no, sweetheart. I haven't even started. Hmm, let's see. Aha! I've got a good one! Tomorrow at school, announce your sexuality. To everyone! I want everyone to know you're gay. Oh and don't tell Greg what you're doing, cause he will just ruin it all."

I almost break into tears. I am so angry. "How could you do this to me Lucinda? You know I'm not ready yet! Please take it back! Please! I'll do anything else! Please!"

"Nope, I want a good show tomorrow. See ya!" she says, and with a swish of her robes she is gone.

Tomorrow is gonna be hell. I want to call Greg but I know it's useless.

Nothing can stop me now, not even myself.
