CHAPTER ONE ::: DISCOVERY
"Amber hurry your ass up, we're going to be late!" I all but yell. I swear that girls thirty minutes late for everything. After another ten more minutes she finally decides to grace us with her presence.
"Took you long enough. Moms going to kill us." I grimace slightly.
"Oh don't get your panties in a bunch. Mom will be fine she knows how I am. " She says confidently as she skips past me on her way to the car. Ugh. My sister is so infuriating. We were supposed to meet Mom, Dad, and Jack at the restaurant.
"Fine but when they start bitching I'm blaming it all on your slow ass!" I said huffing slightly.
"I don't care tell them. " she says carelessly. After the ten minute drive we make it to the restaurant. I spot my family the instant we walk in. Its a nice Italian place. Maroon colored carpet and matching curtains. I make my way over to the table and quickly give my mom a kiss on the cheek and my dad a pat on the shoulder. I ruffle Jacks hair on my way to my seat which earns me a death glare from the 11 year old.
"So what the hell took you so long?" my mom asks with amusement in her eyes.
"Amber spent a hour in the bathroom. Probably stinking the place up." I chuckle while Amber gasps and slaps me on the chest which makes me laugh harder. She then proceeds to pout to my mother.
"Chase leave your sister alone." mom says playfully. The waiter arrives then and we all place our order. We make small talk until the food arrives. I order the chicken Alfredo which is amazing here.
"So I'm guessing your wondering why your mother and I dragged you down here to dinner." my dad says sitting his fork down. I simply nod my head waiting for him to continue.
"Well your mother and I are taking a cruise to the Bahamas and before you ask no you can't come the only one were taking is Jack." he says with that stern look on his face which meant he's leaving no room for argument.
"That's not fair I've always wanted to go to the Bahamas." Amber whines. Me, I could really care less I'm super busy at work anyway and don't have time to take a vacation.
"Look Amber you got your college finals coming up soon and Chase your busy with that project at work you've been telling me about and neither one of you have the time to watch Jack so thats why he's coming with us." my mom says to get us to understand. Im perfectly fine with it. In fact I'm glad my parents are finally going on vacation they could use one and they definitely deserve it. My mom stays at home and my dad works about 70 hours a week at one of the biggest law firms in the city.
"That's fine I understand and honestly I'm to busy to go anyway and so is Amber." I say nudging her with my elbow. She was still pouting but mumbled her agreement anyway. The rest of the meal went smoothly. They were leaving in two days and would be gone for three weeks.
Not much longer we were saying our goodbyes and I love you's. Agreeing that I was to drive them to the airport instead of catching a cab or leaving their car there. Heading our separate ways Amber and I headed over to my car since I had to take her back to her dorm.
'I can't believe them fucking assholes are going to the Bahamas and I can't go that's bullshit! ' Amber says angrily.
"Hey watch your mouth that's your parents your talking about like that."
