Chapter 3: Better Caught Than Never

"K-Kuya...h-hoy kuya. A-ayos ka lang ba?"

"H-Hoy! K-Kuya! Gumising ka! Wag ka munang mamatay! Kuya! K-Kuya!"

"Utang na loob Kuya! Gumising ka! Kuya! H-Hoy!"

"Waaaah! Anak ng tokwa! Anong gagawin ko?!"

I suddenly woke up by that voice. Who the heck is that? Ang ingay. Kairita.

I gradually opened my eyes but only to see a white ceiling and a bright light. I moved my head a bit to look around and I only see white blurry figures. Where the hell am I?

"Buti naman buhay ka pa." was the very first thing I heard from a voice I'm very much familiar with.

I thought I'm just having a dream but crap, I regretted for looking at that person who speak. I groaned when I saw Hellarine's face. Oh great. What a bad sight to start my day.

Sinubukan kong bumangon but I don't think it was the right move dahil bigla nalang sumakit ang ulo ko. Napapikit nalang ako sa sobrang sakit ng ulo ko. Crap. My head hurts so much. It's as if it will break into pieces anytime. What the hell happened to me?

"Akalain mo nga naman oh. After all those hits that your body received, nagawa mo pang maka-survive. And 14 shots of the Bomb? Seriously?" She said mockingly which reminded me of what happened last night.

Oo nga pala. I was out there to get a drink when I had a fight with Rocco's gang. I even remembered when someone hit me in my head. Now I get it why my head hurts. But what I don't understand is that why I ended up here in this damn hospital, covered with many bandages, and guarded again with this evil witch, Hellarine. Like, what is she even doing here?

"Alam mo, kung magpapakamatay ka na manlang, you should have told me. You know I always have better suggestions if you want to die that easily. Kung the bomb lang pala ang hanap mo, then I'd love to blast you...for real. At kung bugbugan naman yung hanap mo, I can call your grandmother to hire you bouncers."

I looked at her direction and threw her a cold stare. There I saw her sitting upfront, crossing her arms and legs, and smirking like she always do.

"Ano? Natauhan ka na?" She asked in a very annoying way.

"Shut up." I said bluntly as I removed the tubes attached to my body. I tried getting off from the bed and didn't mind my body pain.

I need to get out of here. This hospital suffocates me. Most especially this woman I'm with.

"Saan ka pupunta? Aalis ka na naman? Sa bugbog na inabot mo may gana ka pa talagang umalis?"

Hindi ko siya pinansin. Kinuha ko lang ang damit sa bedside table at sinuot yun.

"Alam mo, kung ako sa'yo magpapahinga muna ako. I won't force myself to do stupid things again."

Hindi ko pa rin siya pinansin. Sinuot ko ang sapatos ko at dumiretso sa pinto. I was about to leave when Hellarine blocked my way.

"Move." I said sternly. I made sure to make my voice scary enough to shake her.

But, just as how stubborn as she is, she didn't bother to move nor even flinch. She looked at me straight in the eyes and showed me like she wasn't scared at all.

"I said move or else-"

"Or else what? You'll kill me?" She scoffed. "Pwe. Gasgas na ang linya mo Valencia. Don't me."
