I Missed You-a Nuna Fanfiction

14 - "I love you."

(Haha get tricked I updated twice in one week *dabs*)

Neville's POV

I leaned back in my chair as I put down my quill. I picked up my newly finished lesson plans for the week in a drawer.

Finally.

I glanced at the small window and it was pretty dark outside, so I decided to call it a night. Since tomorrow is the day before the school year begins, I had wanted to spend one night with Luna before I couldn't for 4 months. I picked up the rabbit from my lap and disapparated to my apartment.

Once I arrived, I placed the rabbit on the floor and she immeaditaly hopped to my couch and fell asleep on a pillow.

Okay, that's me.

I turned on the lights and changed into my pjs, when i heard two soft nocks on my door. I opened it and was basically tackled into a hug, the only thing I saw being frizzy blond hair.

We sort of waddled in, but still being in an embrace, my face in her hair, and her head in the crook of my neck. 

Her warm breath tickled my neck when she mumbled, "Hello."

We broke apart and I went to close the door. When I came back in, she was on my couch petting the rabbit. 

"What will we name her?"

She turned to look and she smiled. "I was thinking Honey."

I smiled back, "I love it."

I sat next to her and held her hand. Her presence just relaxed every bone in my body to the point wher I felt like mush. I stared at her eyes, mesmerized, until I realized she had started to talk again.

"-but something happend. Harry found her wand on the floor and she wasn't there. When he-"

I shook my head slightly, "Sorry,  who are we talking about again?"

She smiled, "Ginny. She was up waiting for Harry to come home from work the other night. But when Harry got there, all he found was her wand on the floor. When he casted a spell-check on it, it revealed that her last spell casted was a missed Stunning jinx on a cloaked person."

I gasped, "Oh Merlin no. Is that why he sent you a patronus?"

She nodded, "When I had arrived, he was broken. The Auror department arrived quickly and investigated but didn't really find anything. I spent the night, as you know, and took care of Teddy all day. We met Harry for lunch-"

At that moment, for some reason, I felt a little punch in my gut. I shook the random feeling out of my head and tuned back in.

"-and he said that other Aurors were also going and assured me that we would be surrounded with help if needed."

I nodded. Then a realization came to me.

"Wait, Luna, what do you mean 'we'?"

She raised her eyebrow, "I'm going on a mission with Harry and others to find Ginny."

The silence of the living room was the perfect example of what was not happening in my head. I sat up straight and looked at her directly.

"Luna! How, when, is this even- but what about, Teddy might..but this is so dangerous!"

She sat up straight now, looking at me, focused, "Nevs, I will go and there is nothing you can say to change that. I will find my best friend who was there for me at my breakup. Teddy will be staying with you until we come back, which Harry said should be in a couple of months."
