We had been running for what seemed like weeks. A hoard of z's separating us, leaving 10k and I wondering if anyone was even alive. If operation bite mark was still a go. If the possible savior of humanity could still be.
"TO YOUR LEFT!" Ten shouted at me. I head for the woods he pointed out. Running for again what seemed like forever. I stopped for a minute, bent over with my hands on my knees keeping me from collapsing while trying to breathe. "Y/n we have to keep going. " "10k we've been running for almost four days we need to stop. I need to stop. " I looked him in the eyes with pain and tiredness in my eyes. He looked at me with pity. "I know you're tired, so am I, but we need to keep going. We need more distance between us and the z's." I sighed. Holding back tears from the pain in my legs and stomach and the pain in my heart from not knowing if the rest of us are still out there and if they are alive. Then we started running again.
•two hours later•
We stopped running finally but we were still on the move trying to find somewhere safe to camp or a sturdy tree to sleep in at least. "Do you think they're alive?" I asked ten. He just looked down not saying anything. This is the worst feeling in the apocalypse, not knowing. "Hey Ten look!" I could faintly see some type of building in the distance. "Finally some good luck" I said to him with a smile.
"Looks safe enough for me." I walked towards the small houses front door. "Stay behind y/n! We don't know if it's safe or not" he pulled me behind him. He crept up to one of the windows then motioned for me to walk over. "Ten, we're miles into the woods I'm sure it's fine." I walked to the front door and opened it to find a completely safe living room/kitchen with two doors I assumed were the bathroom and a bedroom. "You could've walked into a trap or a z Y/n!" He snapped at me. Then walked over to the bathroom door opening it to find nothing then the same with the bedroom. "See nothing." I pushed by him and plopped on the bed. "You don't have to yell at me. I'm not some little kid. " I rolled away from him and pulled the covers up. I felt Ten sit on the bed next to me. "I'm sorry. " he whispered. "It's Just, you're all I have left. And I don't ever wanna lose you. " he finished getting up and leaving the room. I tried to sleep but all I could do was cry. Everyone could be dead. And all ten and I have been doing is fighting.
Wiping the tears from my face I walked to the kitchen where 10k was looking for food. "I'm sorry I yelled at you for making sure I don't die. " my voice shaky and cracking from crying. He turned around from the shelf's and handed me a jar of peanut Butter. I smiled a tiny bit knowing he knew it was my comfort food. "It's okay. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that." I smiled sadly. "I'm sure they're alive. We've gone through worse." He said going back to scavenging the place. I grabbed tens arm turning him to me then wrapped my arms around him tight. "Promise me you'll stay with me forever Ten thousand. " his body tense under me but he still wraps his arms around me pulling me even closer. "I promise y/n. Even when we find the others I'll never leave you. " he whispered. I tried not to cry but failed. This just prompted ten to pull me closer. "It's okay. We'll make it through this. I'll make sure of it. " he whispered in my ear.

Laying on this bed was so comfortable and soft but all this not knowing was keeping me from sleep. "Hey Ten?" Barely audible I was surprised he heard me from outside the room. "Hum?" I sat up to see the confusion on his face. "Will you lay with me please. " his face turned a little red. "Um. I-I think someone should keep watch. " I frowned at him then laid back down. "There wasn't even signs of scavengers in this place I'm sure we're fine Ten. " he sighed at my remark. "Okay." He whispered. I felt the bed dip a little as he laid beside me. I turned over and placed my head on his chest and arms around him. He tensed a little and I assumed he was blushing but I was too tired to care. "Thank you Ten." "Anything to make you feel better." He wrapped his arms around me and placed a small kiss on my head. I haven't felt this safe since the hoard separated us from the group .
